What was the last DJ related item you bought?

Nah man, tested them in the store and took them directly to storage since I’m in the middle of moving to a different city. Should have them out once I set up the office room/DJ booth.

All right here we go

First up to bat.

This monitor is a little more than decent for me. It came with its own stand that looks almost the same as the new Reloop one lol. I’m getting a new Mac laptop for video editing to replace my Mac mini. So the Mac mini will now be dedicated for strictly for djing and music making purposes.

But I need something else to go with it. So I got this too.

It works with my iPad and my iPhone also. It’s working so far so good with the Mac mini. I’ll review this in about a month. The build quality is not the best but so far it’s acceptable.

And then I need guards to protect my gear so I grabbed these.

It will have to put them together when I have time on the weekend though.

And here is the preliminary setup before I finish up building my case for it.

I think this might be the last major item. It’s a proper stand for my case. The rest will be little things until the Rane One mk2 ends up my hands.

The end result (kinda) can be found here. Show your home DJ booth (Part 2) - #187 by Wyley1

Enjoy

Bought Frost 2.0 USB by PondLifeParty before it was sold worldwide. Include 32 unreleased tracks with one exclusive mix.

This beautiful skin from Dotodesign, Italy makes my x1800 (which I got used rather cheap in poor condition) look like new!

That’s nice!!! Reminds me of the x1700 a bit!

That is just looking awesome! X1700 had red fx section. I think, they would make a red version of this wrap as well.

To be more precise, like the X1600 (the X1700 had a more pink’ish hue).

Anyway, as a former owner of the little, but powerful X600, I love this style a lot!

I always thought the X1800/1850 looks rather dull and a bit boring - lacks contrast.

You must be a Seinfeld fan

I suppose next we’ll have the feats of strength and the airing of grievances. :stuck_out_tongue:

OK this is potentially sacrilegious :see_no_evil: But… I bought a Pioneer player!

I love my Prime 4 but I’ve got sick of turning up to events and not fully knowing my way around the CDJs - the basics are fine, but things like not knowing instinctively where to look on the screen for info were annoying. So I picked up a second hand XDJ1000mk2

It’s… fine? Pretty basic, but I knew that’s what I was getting. And having it plugged into a channel on my Prime 4 means I’ve got a physical third deck where I won’t get lazy with visual beat matching :joy:

So here it is - the unholy union

It blows my mind that Alpha dont have a modern XDJ player at that price point… they’ve literally consolidated their whole media player line into a single 2 grand unit.

Yeah it’s baffling to me, feels like they’d sell like hot cakes without cannibalising the 3000…

Surely selling 2 of them to every DJ on a budget is better than trying to peddle 1 CDJ-3000? The sales of XDJ would far outweigh what they are getting for 3000s now id say.

Agreed, same thought. The prices for those ancient XDJs on the 2nd hand market are also striking, surpassing those of full media SC5000 decks.

The era when we had more affordable entry decks (aka CDJ-200/350/400/850 or DNS-700/1000/1200) is long over, now it’s just controllers, AiO-Systems, or two flagship solo deck options: CDJ3000 vs SC6000.

I wished the P4/P4+ had better support for external decks, like integrated standalone DVS, or Rane Twelve plug n’ play.

The lack of interoperability between Rane and DenonDJ hardware is baffling.

I already had one of these slim folding aluminium stands for my Prime Go but picked another up from Aldi UK just as a spare.

If anyone with a Prime Go wants to add a little more angle to their unit then these are awesome for £6. They are available in silver or black.

I have 2 of these and love them.

Ooh, excellent pointer, thanks - I’ve got one which has to do dual duty between Prime Go events and my work space, £6 is a bargain to remove that small annoyance.

Im ‘buying’ my first ever service on my 1210s today, 23yrs old and never been done so looking forward to it. Getting new phono cables, ring connector ground leads and a full service and clean of all parts/resolder of any known problem area on the board.

Got them in my car boot srapped in a blanket with a luggage net over them to stop them moving around. Yes that is the most care an attention ive ever taken over putting something in my car before you ask.
