If you want to go ultra hipster you could look at Mastersounds and then pair it with a sound card:)

I have the radius 4 and the rotary controls are perfect for melodic trance type mixing, the HPF covers most of the EQ needs and the summing on the pots means individual frequency EQ are not really needed.

I do like the look of those rotary mixers but I’d miss the cross fader. Think it would be to much of a change and would throw me off.

Going to just keep an eye out and hope stock comes in on pioneer mixers. I’ve looked at the Allan and heath stuff too, but most of their mixers are also out of stock. It’s utter bs really. Whole situation with regards to stock stinks of greed. I just don’t buy the chip shortage excuse now, other industries such as pc / gaming ect have sorted the supply chains. It suits the industry to have everything on back order.

Small rant over… :grinning:

Reloop have just brought a new 4 channel mixer out, looks the business.

Tbh ive never used the crossfader much so it didnt bother me, Serato has a thing called silent cue now where you can play the record with no sound then hit a cue point to play the track, meaning you can go open fader and drop the next track like that if you need to cut from one to the other.

Ah sounds cool, yeah I’ve seen the Reloop. I’m not sure if I’m spending a grand it has to be pioneer really doesn’t it.

Hmmmm not any more id say, a grand in Pioneer world gets you nothing now, the DJM750 isnt a great mixer imo, it doesnt even have per channel filters does it?

Apparently it’s a cut down 900nxs2. Has everything you’d need really. I don’t know but the time they get stock I’ll have enough saved for the V10 anyway…

Having used both loads of times at gigs, it’s nowhere near the 900. In typical Pioneer fashion they make it just annoying enough to want the more expensive mixer. I personally couldn’t put up with the fact it only works with Rekordbox (that requires a subscription) and not having filters on all the channels is a complete deal breaker on a mixer like that.

Mastersounds do a rotary with a cross fader(radius 4v)! That would be my choice since I still love to smash the fader around at times (too much alcohol).

After hearing what you’re saying I may just skip that model then.

Will check that one out! Thanks

Yeah, it’s a decent enough basic level mixer, but I think nowadays with all the features you can get its just a bit restricted. Filters for each channel are ultra important seeing as how much more flexibility in a mix it can give you.

Ill start by saying that V model radius is a complete monster, but I do think its not quite as romantic in Rotary circles as it has channel EQ… there is something special about mixing tracks with purely just the fader pots and that smooth HPF on the OG Radius, its great to have it alongside a standard setup as its just something completely different and a great way of getting fully involved with a mix. I find on normal faders I have a routine almost, whereas on the Rotary It can change every track with the ability to tweak it and just introduce or take out subtle elements of the track with just that one dial.

Both have their place however.

Pretty sure 750mk2 does have filter for each channel. It’s the sound colour fx. Pioneer seem to be upgrading the entire lineup at the moment so I’m guessing it’s worth holding out to see what the updated model is like /priced? Will take a look at these rotary ones that you’re talking about.

Ahhhh yeah, I got my mixers mixed up. I was talking about the one with the silver strip down the right hand side where you can only apply it to a channel at a time with a single knob.

Edit: DJM-700… sorry my bad.

I was browsing earlier and found that there’s an Ecler WARM4 on the way. Looks tasty.

Yeah that’s a beauty isn’t it.

It’s cool man, I’m kinda leaning towards Allan and Heath px5 or Xone 92 now. Been on pioneer for years pretty board of them tbh. .

I don’t know about these analog mixers: I still have my Rodec 180mkiii lying around, fun analog tank to mix on. But I always seem to miss the filter and ff section…

This is mine Johan, notice the left portion of the mixer is actually the Mastersounds FX unit. That has a master insert function so the master signal is always running through the filter dial (HPF, LPF, BPF), the top section is beat FX, all analogue with manual time dial which would be familiar to you with the musical instrument pedals.

For quantised effects and per channel filter, I just use the Serato built in effects with the Pioneer midi controller.
