Sc6000 discontinued?

I remember when we used to get mail-drops. Now they are all a distant memory. Most retailers used to list all their stock in the back of DJ mag in the 90s. Those were the days.

I think I last had Bax Shop send their regular catalogue until I left that address. The place has been unoccupied for five years now so god knows how many are piled up behind the door.

They will just add the Amazon Music drm chip. We already saw this with the Prime4 and Prime4+, no units available in some stores for months, rumours of discontinuation and then Prime4+ available.

It takes time for entire process to stop and restart and then pump up the number of units to be available to ship them globally.

In the meantime, users today have zero patience and easily flake from one manufacturer to another. inMusic better got serious money from Amazon for doing this shaite - shooting themselves in the foot for a relatively lousy DJ streaming service just to tick a box more on the product spec sheet and paying whatever dumbass marketing exac bonus for closing the deal with Amazon.

I agree with this ^

They also made some jog improvements on the p4+ so we can safely say that this will happen on the 6000+ too. Maybe also a change on the hardware graphics to reflect the upcoming stems feature also.

But all this really is just educated guess :person_in_lotus_position:

I’d bet that Denon will tease/release the next media player once the bugs are worked out with stems on the Prime4+.

Tell that to Pioneer diehards :joy:

If that is true it is a waste of effort really and I agree with you Amazon was just a poor choice for what it actually does, there maybe some uses if you’re new to djing but again in one is new to djing you’re not likely to spend over 4k on a media player set up, and with Tidal removing the ability to stream that is another draw back unless Amazon will allow this going going forward.

Many companies now use JIT (Just In Time) for manufacturing, keeping stocks low in warehouses and generally having lower inventories. This means if there’s a sudden spike like the lockdown or demand due to a new feature, stocks can run out faster than the supply chain and can take a few months to settle again.

When you see the stocks low in some areas it could be discontinued but could also be that stocks shifted quickly and manufacturing is catching up.

If a “plus” model is on the way, stocks will be run down to a point but if this is a JIT process, I’d have expected to have seen an announcement before now. Running out of stock at End Of Life without announcing a new player would be regarded as reckless. Especially for the image of the pro/install market the SC6000 goes for.

It’s just a guess but we may see a little more from the 6000 yet. I can’t see the Amazon chip appeal to the pro/install market enough to even include it but I could be wrong!

Well said and that’s ALWAYS been InMusic’s model. Yes, we do have some more time with the 6000 series. They still kick the 3000’s butt so why not! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve only seen one type of those and that is CDJ ones and for one specific reason: rentals.

When/if it becomes profitable for them to buy Denon they will.

I’m not liking what I hearing on this topic, if true (nothing officially announced so treat as a rumor for now) anyone on the fence about buying new Denon standalone players better pull the trigger now, or it’ll be used SCs or Pioneer for you.

Well yes, excluding the blind ones of course, who will just buy anything with a P at the front of its name badge and a price twice as big as it should be lol

OK, maybe I wasn’t clear: The X1850 and SC6000s are it people, end of the line, Denon DJ is giving up on professional club gear.

Prove me wrong because I would have bought the SC7000S.

On the other hand, why don’t you provide evidence they are the last ones? You made the statement and are now expecting others to disprove it, that onus should be on you not the other way around.

Some shops lie sometimes.

If you wander in for something, they’re simply out of stock at that particular week, they’ve got the option of you wandering off and looking for that item elsewhere, or tell you is discontinued so you feel you have to buy something that they’ve actually got in stock

That was really directed at the Denon staff since they’re the only ones on here that could credibly confirm or deny it. The info came from one of the mods on r/DJs that has industry connections and in my experience is trust worthy to not state something like that based solely on a personal opinion or rumor.

Personally I would take anything said on Reddit with a pinch of salt, regardless of how ‘trustworthy’ the source is… to give an example from another space im involved in, most people on photography forums are ‘high demanding professional photographers who accept nothing but the best’, but they’re often hidden behind anonymous profiles with fake names etc.

As far as expecting Denon/InMusic to just answer questions like that on here, it’s highly unlikely to happen, very few companies on the planet will divulge such information, that’s in all sectors.

Yup, super aware of all of that, I’ve been on enthusiasts forums since the late 90s, but the evidence supports what he’s saying. And as far as InMusic responding here they will either say nothing (a silent confirmation in my opinion), deny it (good news), or the boilerplate “we can’t comment on product line changes that have not been officially announced” (inconclusive). At some point they will have to say something when the SC6000s are sold out at most retailers around the world.

Yeah … oh Reddit … yeah not exactly the oracle of all viable knowledge IMG_6422

They don’t say anything like that about their devices on here though, ever, so taking that as ‘silent confirmation’ is a bit of 2+2 = 7

Quite right - nor does any manufacturer say “this device is still current” every single day that it’s active … that doesn’t mean that a silent day means it’s no longer current lol.
