Sc range still getting updates and new features. Denon do things differently
For the record. Denon can ride out the SC6000 (and M) for quite a while as they still kick everything else to the curb. What do they have to worry about? But they could also give up on that market too and I wouldn’t blame them.
thomann states there in 15 to 19 weeks available. can be new model or sc6000+, seems more logical to me with the prime 4 latest update was prime 4+
Some dj shops in the USA, the sc6000 is on backorder.

The reason it’s ‘officially’ not discontinued is because it’s not.
Production has been retooled for the + model which has some under the hood changes which is the natural way to go.
If you look here you will see that being discontinued really doesn’t mean anything yet. Engine DJ OS Compatible Hardware | Engine DJ
@Wyley1 Source? You sure seem to know a lot.
I’m an idiot ![]()
It appears long & mcquade restocked in small amount after they took down the sc6000m. Maybe it’s not the deathnell it seemed to be
The re listed cause they have used ones available because of trade ins.
Leading German retailers mostly seem to have removed the 6000Ms from their websites. Also, the SC Live 2 is nowhere to be seen.
Exactly
Retailers don’t want to tell customers “it’ll be in stock again in 6 weeks” - that gives the customer 6 weeks to spend their money somewhere else - instead retails might bed tempted to tell tales to immediate push the customer onto a product that’s in-stock
So I was about to buy my second pair of SC6000’s from djkit and have seen they have been archived and no longer stock or sell them. I reached out to them and they told me denon said they are no longer making them. Not sure what to do now, buy some in stock from somewhere else or wait to hear something from Denon about the newer models. Could be along wait? Any thoughts or information about this yet?
The sc6000M is also no longer available from most major retailers in France and Europe. Sonovente, one of France’s biggest retailers, and thomann in Germany withdrew the SC6000M from the catalog a few weeks ago.
In my opinion, there are two possible options:
Either the Denon teams are working on a new motorized model (Sc6000M+, Sc6000M MkII or a brand new Sc7000M model with the Rane Performer platter).
Or Denon is abandoning individual players altogether, having failed to win over pioneer in clubs & festivals, to concentrate solely on stand-alone all-in-ones.
I really hope they haven’t chosen the second option.
As a guess, it’s probably just a “Plus” version on its way, with a little ID chip inside so it can hook up to Amazon Music.
Plus, DJ kit in Newbury have been known to … erm … provide an alternative to the factual truth, when it comes to stock availability.
I honestly have big doubts about a simple + version. I think that if they had to release a + version they would have done it a while ago, at the same time as the SC live 2/4.
The SC6000/M players were announced at the beginning of 2020, 3 years after the sc5000/M
We are 4 and a half years later, it would no longer really make sense to release a + version now in relation to the product life cycle.
In the event that Denon DJ does not abandon the production of players, I would rather bet on a new generation of players to come, announcing the renewal of the Prime range.
Especially since the hardware based on Rk3288 is starting to age
But I imagine that there is a good chance that the future motorized model will use the Rane Performer platter. This would make sense to rationalize costs between Rane and Denon DJ within InMusic.
But they may very well decide to give up on player manufacturing altogether, and focus on the mobile DJ market with standalones.
This is obviously just speculation, but we can clearly see that Denon is focusing on standalone products lately. Many features as updates go by are only available for standalones, more effects on standalones etc etc…
We have the feeling that the team is not paying as much attention to the players that are supposed to be their flagships.
Who “we” ? 2 mates? 5 buddies? Im curious, as few of the thousands of members on this forum seem to echo your one-to-the-power-of-we, fears.
Anyone with a 5000 or 6000, whether it’s the non-motorised version or the occasionally temperamental M versions, will, I suspect, be somewhat overjoyed at the shear number of firmware updates which have lengthened to usability and longevity of their purchase, for years into the future.
Yeah. Let’s wait and see.
“We” is a way of speaking (common in French) to express the feeling of a category or a group of people. Having discussed it a little with other colleagues who use Denon players, we really noticed that Denon DJ communicates much more on the stanalones and / or pushes these products. If only in the ads on social networks, the videos showing the new features when updates come out.
Denon DJ does not seem to make any real communication / marketing effort on the players for a while
The prime 4+ is much more often present than the players and an X1850 mixer.
Obviously this is only a feeling and obviously from a support point of view, the players continue to be supported by the team and the updates have really brought a lot to the players.
I am mainly talking from a marketing / communication point of view. Players no longer seem to be Denon DJ’s priority.
A bit like they had admitted the idea that they would not be able to take the leadership on Pioneer in this field and had decided to refocus on the mobile DJ segment (based on the principle that mobile DJs now only use standalones, which is false).
There have been rumors for some time. I guess they’re true. If you want a new Denon DJ media player, buy an SC6000 now.
Oh? When and where did they admit that? Or are you prefixing “A bit like…” to another supposition? I’m regularly in conversation with a key selection of DJ gear retailers in the UK and they are seeing the ratio of Pioneer single decks fall against the Primes. The main selling points in the prime single decks buying favour being Dual layer, performance features, and price.
Pioneer clinging to “industry standard” (a phrase they’ve been keen to over use for almost 3 decades now) is proving to be more of an anchor in the past, than a halo-illuminated pedestal.

Just incase anyone is looking for units in the UK/IE axis
Denon/Engine focus on getting the software up to scratch that needs to be the priority, new hardware is not needed at the moment, having commented back in October last year i am not seeing fellow commenters wanting new hardware, the main requests are software related that should be a big clue as to what needs doing.
