Same thing coming soon from alpha theta

After a 6 years member here i really can not understand why some of you spend your time of what pioneer is doing or not. I choosed time ago to purchase a prime 4 for my needs. Time by time i read the industry news but never with sarcasm. Its pointless.

As a dj that is traveling from club to club, I have to use sometimes cdj’s or other gear. Not always I am allowed to use a denon setup. So it’s good to be well informed what is possible and what’s not, to keep my performance on top track.

i went to a studio around a month ago they had cdj 3000s my understanding is the latest iteration has gated cue but the cdj 3000s do not very strange it through me off at first as i hit the cue button and the song just plays took me a while to adjust, surely that is a simple firmware update but again another reason why i chose Denon gated cue from day 1

Some of us have gear from both Pioneer/AT and Denon. Besides, Pioneer/AT is industry standard, and if you play out on gear that is not your own, it’s going to be on Pioneer/AT hardware. Period. That’s never going to change regardless of what Denon comes out with in the future. And if by some miracle that changes, I will be the first to happily eat my words.

Way to go champ! That’s the best attitude.

I’ve been here for 9+ years. All the baseless optimism dissipated years ago.

It’s simply a status symbol; nothing more. Laidback Luke showed all colleagues that a professional set can be done on a phone and tiny controller. Now he’s also back to the status symbol, because clients demanded it…

As an owner of 3000s and SC6KM, there is not a doubt in my mind that the Denon deck has superior functionality. But, again, status symbol or not, it’s what EVERYONE demands! Professional and amateurs, alike. So, if you play out on gear that is not your own, it’s going to be on Pioneer/AlphaTheta gear. So, it’s foolish not to acclimate yourself to whatever they come out with, because at some point you’re going to have to play on it.

I’m not debating that. Glad I use what I prefer.

Not necessarily. It’s what is generally made available, but maybe not what “everyone” would prefer to use, given the choice. See the previous comment on Laidback Luke. Using a different setup to others was a hassle, compared to just turning up and plugging in a USB stick.

I’m sure if a big enough name was booked, and they wanted certain kit, it would be accommodated (specified on their rider) but it’s less bother for everyone involved if only one set of kit needs to be provided and they’re all happy to play on it.

Pioneer/AlphaTheta are dominant. There is no point in splitting hairs trying to state otherwise. Are there “some” DJs that prefer other brands’ hardware besides Pioneer/AT? Of course. Fine, fine, then I guess I need to retract my statement that “EVERYONE” demands it. Y’all got me! Here, I’ll rephrase it. Nearly EVERYONE demands to play on 2000nxs2s, 3000s, 3000Xs, or hell, even XZs and AZs. I have never had someone request a Prime 4 or SC6000 in their rider. Nor have any of my other promoter friends. I’ve not even seen a Prime 4 or SC6000(M) at a party I was attending to personally party/dance at. The only person I know that has a SC6000M is me. Even the one guy in town who previously had SC5000s replaced them with 3000Xs. The reason he told me was because there was no stated guarantee that Denon was even go9ing to continue making SC decks going into the future. And, you know what? I’ve also raised that concern here, and was left with silence.

Hopium doesn’t accomplish anything. I’ve said this countless times on here, but for whatever reason, peeps just don’t get it. ALL of the gear we use are simply tools. There is no point in getting emotionally invested. There’s no need for tribalist defense of this or that gear! I enjoy using my SC6000M. I also enjoy using my 3000s. I am seriously thinking of buying a Rane System One (and modding it with Rotary Pots) because it’s cool AF! I’ve also bought an AZ for small popup gigs. I personally prefer a Xone:96, but also have a V10 for whenever it’s requested. Tools!!!

Have Pio/AT stated that they will carry on making CDJs?

Besides, even if SC decks will never be made again, the 5000s he bought will continue to function. They won’t disappear or fail to work if no more are made.

Hopium, emotional investment, tribalist defense? No - just reacting to your statement that “everyone” demands Pioneer.

FYI I have gear from Denon, Pioneer, Ableton, Native Instruments, Numark, Korg, Roland, Akai, Novation, Gemini, Technics, Alllen & Heath, Yamaha, Alesis, Vestax…

I’m not emotionally invested in any particular brand. I buy it if it suits my needs.

Then there’s no need to argue. So, why are you?

Perhaps it’s different in the UK or Europe, but here in the south-eastern US, I’ve never heard of anyone that doesn’t.

It’s called a discussion. I disagreed with your claim, but that doesn’t make this an argument.

As stated, I use kit from many companies, hence I don’t demand Pioneer. Therefore your statement that “everyone” demands it is untrue. Simple logic.

I guess you missed the part where, due to your statement, I recanted that claim.

No I didn’t miss it. I also didn’t miss the mass of text after that, where you said you’d never seen a Prime 4 being used, and never had it requested (etc), still trying to justify your claim.

Just because you’ve never seen it, doesn’t mean nobody on the planet is using a Prime 4 (I have one here) or any kit other than Pio/AT. That’s not “baseless optimism”, it’s just logic and common sense.

You’re right. What was I thinking? I clearly wasn’t. My bad <3
