I updated to 2.0.2 (from 2.0.0) yesterday and everything worked fine.
Today I went to turn on my Prime 2 and it won’t boot. It starts up and lights fade from left to right with screen showing ‘engine dj - 2.0.2’. Then after about 30 seconds all the lights stay on and it just freezes with the same message on the screen.
I’ve tried removing the internal drive, rebooting while holding down eject, pulled out mains power for 5 mins and try again. Nothing fixes it and it just freezes / hangs on boot.
I have a gig next weekend so starting to panic a bit. Can anyone help me? Or should I contact Denon directly?
Hold Shift (right deck) and Eject and press the power button
That part worked and the updater appeared to run correctly from my Mac - it completed all steps and finished with a “Done” message and the Prime 2 screen now shows version 2.1.0.
BUT… My device is still frozen - it sits there with all lights on and won’t go any further. I’ve completely powered off, waited and restarted, but it’s the same behaviour as before.
Hi @keybits - Thanks for giving that a shot, and sorry to hear that didn’t work out. I think at this stage it will be best to deal with our Technical Support team directly. Has someone reached out yet to assist?
I have the same problem with the prime 4 I wanted to install from version 1.6.2 to 2.1 and the problem is not solved, the support told me to press shift and eject, enter the update mode but when opening the program to install the firmware part 1 and 2 makes it fast and 3 goes slow, later the computer restarts but does not finish loading the drivers and shuts down
I also have the same problem, as soon as I bought it and connected to the internet, it asked me for an update (OS 2.1.2), of which I did it and it looks like a wonderful console, I had never tried the Denon prime 2, (I used Pioneer ) but only after buying it on 02/22/2022, arrived 02/25, I started using it, but unfortunately mine also restarts by itself, while I use the first 2 (for home fun) after a bit of changing songs , the first 2 freezes and restarts … I do not have private parties yet, but when I start I will make a lot of fools for the problem that arises, I wrote to Denon but it still does not respond, the only answer was that due to the heavy traffic cannot reply to emails. I wrote to the seller for a possibility of return, I will wait for his response, possibly add the difference by taking the first 4, or switch back to Pioneer (which at least even if raw does not leave me)

I’m a bit late updating here, but my Prime 2 is now fixed. I returned it to the retailer (Thomann in Germany) and they sent it to Denon for repair. I’m not sure what was repaired but it’s working fine now.
It all took about 6 weeks from start to finish which is a long time, but I do live in the middle of nowhere in Ireland and I’m happy to have a working device again.
