It’s crazy to see who’s buying a licence for a brand in one area just to slap on a cheap TV chassis with generic firmware as they know it will sell. Every UK store seems to do it now.
They’ve been into that stuff and engines since their days with the navy. I don’t think that was sold. Consumer stuff I think went to China, though. My first audio buy was a Westinghouse tape deck.
Yeah. Peugeot and BMW co-designed the Prince engine (I have one in my DS3 Sport). It was used in the Mini Cooper S, DS3 156THP Sport, DS5, Peugeot RCZ, Peugeot 209 GTi kinda things. It even went into a BMW 1 series & 3 series I think. Saab were due to take some but folded just before.
I basically have a Cooper S in a DS3 body haha. I needed a cheap runaround during lockdown after selling my car and kept it. It’s still going.
Yeah it’s mental isnt it, its the 1 series BMW im thinking of isn’t it?
Ive got an MHEV engine in my new car, Audi 2.0l Diesel with 205hp (which i find insane for the engine size)… it turns the engine off when you’re coasting at any speed, so 70 on the motorway and it just switches everything off, mad.
That’s really awesome. I was toying with a new factory fresh car last year but was became a dad so decided to put the money into rebuilding the house. Maybe one day I’ll get one.
The same could be said then of Pioneer CDJs. The pads are only for hot cues, so they’re a waste of money. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say that though.
CDJ’s aren’t being compared to Denon GO. So what you’re saying isn’t comparable. Compare the CDJ to the SC6000 which still has more functions for the pads compared to the CDJ
I think this kit looks pretty cool. Comparable to the Denon Go. My only issue with these all-in-one standalone units is that the mixer section frequently just feels bleh compared the travel and smoothness of the faders and EQs of a xone or other focused DJ mixer. This isnt unique to Denon though, traktor, pio etc all have kinda cheap feeling faders and knobs on their controllers.
I would imagine maybe there is a market for an all-in-one that really focuses on making the mixer feel less plastic and more analogous to the direct feel of DJ mixers. Pioneer kind of gets there, but i’ve always preferred a xone to a DJM.
We are not talking about CDJ’s. The DUO is a waste of money. It’s $1400 for less features than the GO has. Now if you would like to buy one then have at it and be disappointed
Can you not understand the logic in my comparison? You appeared to be saying that the DUO was a waste of money BECAUSE the pads were only hot cues.
If that was the case, then surely CDJs must also be a waste of money - based on your reasoning.
As for having fewer (not less) features than the Go, anyone comparing might prefer the bigger
jogs, the more standard mixer layout, the better metering, EQ on the mics, longer battery life, Bluetooth in and out, 8 pads per side, “Pioneer grade” FX…
