The reaction across the various social sites is mental… I mean im not a massive fan of the device but the hysteria being directed towards it is beyond ridiculous.
Yeah, it’s weird - I thought “the industry standard” could do no wrong…
It is ludicrous expensive and for that amount of money it even isn’t a “proper” Pioneer branded product.
Yeah that price is the huge sticking point… want portability, get the Midstream, a pair of pro speakers, some headphones and a shed load of downloaded music and still have enough money for a couple of nights out.
Want something with better ergonomics, the SC Live 4.
Someone pointed out you can buy a Rane 4 or FLX-10 for the same money… mind blowing.
Looks s h i t nuff said
Think i have made my feelings clear on this but the only selling point for me is the blutooth and even that is likely to mirrored by Engine so nah, the prime go looks better is cheaper and has streaming off the bat the more i look at the duo makes me value my go even more apparently the duo has longer bat life but who is really doing 6+ hour gigs on a go? Think i have done 3 in two years
Why is the price so outrageous? The Prime 2 is/was £1299 which isn’t so far removed - and to expect an inflated price due to brand, would be expected.
Maybe you can buy a Rane 4 or or FLX10 for the same money - but they’re not standalone systems with an onboard battery.
£400 more than the Prime Go for a “Pioneer” version with bigger jogs, two mic inputs, EQ on the mics, channel & master meters (all things that Go owners moaned about)? Why not?
All the comments about it looking [insert rude word here] make me laugh too. Because it doesn’t look identical to older Pioneer gear, immediately it’s branded as a toy (etc). ![]()
I’d say it’s more a direct competitor to the Mixstream Go, at which point it’s double the price.
I dunno about that. I wouldn’t expect people to be comparing Pioneer with Numark and saying “this Pioneer thing is overpriced because the Numark one is cheaper”.
Different ends of the market.
It looks cheap though with low rent components and rebranded under this new name…. If it was more premium I’d agree but it’s being touted as a beginner/casual unit for parties where people have Bluetooth speakers etc. that’s Numark territory as far as I’m concerned.
No, but I’m sure the Delta Bravo Omnibus Duo is gonna be success anyway ![]()
As we all know, AlphaTheta is Pioneer Dj’s new sister’s line of products.
I would think the AlphaTheta labeling is meant to “compliment” the Pioneer Dj labeled gear and not replace it but provide more options to the end user. ![]()
Anyways… This product is not for me. ![]()
I’m very happy with my Denon gear and it just keeps getting better.
I do however enjoy talking about our industry and reading through the replies. It’s always entertaining and informative. ![]()
Is it just my eyes or does that 7” screen look nowhere near 7” big?
Alpha theta is to Pioneer what Numark is to Denon. So the comparison with the mixstream seems rather justified in that light.

Thought DDJTips did show that? Accepts upto 10 minutes of audio over BT and lets you play it back as its streaming in.
Wasn’t it just a music file from his phone?
The thing that’s blowing my head off more than anything else, it’s the literal hundreds of comments I’ve seen that say “oh wow, now I can like DJ anywhere now”
Have they been living on the moon for the past 4yrs?
No wonder InMusic have kicked off about brand loyalty and its impact on the market in those commerce documents, people are literally blind to anything non-Pioneer.
Yes playing on phone and recorded by the unit into memory as it plays. You can jump back to start just like with any track loaded from usb.
I think PK is referring to the misleading part around the audio being ‘recorded’, it’s being cached and you can’t then use record on the device.
@Richard_Nutman it’s not recording though - it’s only buffering/caching.
The unit can record audio (except to SD card) but recording from the Bluetooth input is disabled.
