I just watched a few demo videos. Am I the only one who isn’t at all excited by this thing? Maybe I’m just a bit jaded, but I don’t see anything revolutionary about it. Nothing that justifies spending €1200 on it, anyway.
I agree - IMO it costs maybe five times more than it should (based on what it does). You can’t even record samples from whatever you’re playing on the decks, for loops etc.
You could buy an MPC for half the price, or (as I did) a Maschine+
While I’m not a fan of this type of controller, one thing is for sure: Denon has hit the jackpot here.
High-quality, acclaimed hardware, now even without a laptop. This will appeal to many scratch DJs, just as the P4 thrilled me back in the day.
As much as I love Virtual DJ and no other software even comes close, it’s simply convenient to set up the device, plug in the XLR, adjust the PA levels, and you’re done.
If they now integrate STEM effects into EngineDJ like only Vocal Echo Out… or Instrumental… AT will be under massive pressure. (Let me dream, I guess :D)
The price is quite high, but compared to AT, it almost seems cheap. I think Denon will secure a market share with this.
The biggest loser will probably be Serato – they’ll lose some users. Not a dramatic loss, but new users will likely be found more often on the Denon side. The advantages are really nice to have.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Denon—no, I know it—they’ll sell this thing like hotcakes. That’s how we say it here in Germany.
If you watch Mojaxx’s review he eludes to “paid features”, 3mo free loop cloud for more loop samples and maybe editing? Yay. More subscriptions.
You can also buy the new kaosspad for half the price. :-p
I will say the same thing about the RMX that I always say, it’s way cheaper just to buy an ipad for $250 and use the RMX app.
How can you run send/return with an ipad?
The DJM750MK2, 450, 900NXS2 A9, and V10 have a sub port at the top right specifically for iOS devices. For any other mixer, you can connect any class compliant 2in/2out audio interface.
I don’t like pioneer mixers due to their poor sound quality. But the interface idea is interesting.
looking at the colour wave form design on the rane system one,its totaly look identical with denon wave form
this is serato wave form design
Yeah, this product makes sense after realizing the dependency on Serato for RANE. Might also initiate updates moving enginedj to performance software and offloading realtime stem calculation to laptop cpu. Curious what 2026 will bring us, there seems to be momentum for inMusic to reposition itself in the market.
IMHO if this unit has USB C then the new Rockchip is onboard. It should be the first AIO system to do stems without a PC.
We can hope, but from a ‘brands’ and pricing range perspective i think that introduction would be kept for a Denon flagship unit (i.e. what the PRIME4+ was meant to be.. Delivering on the ‘promise’.). But who knows? Being ‘first’ overall might be more valuable. Creating more demand for these type of STEM-capable units within InMusic’s product line.
Onboard-stem capability combined with those platters would be awesome!
That will probably be the 4ch version
Nice unit, nice I/O, and nice photos. Thanks!
Curious how the new vertical screen layout will play out, especially in standalone mode.
No wonder the software devs are so busy for months now ![]()
I’ve never seen a locking USB-C connector before but I love the concept!!!
I don’t think so - because assuming it’s got the same chip upgrade as the new Akai MPCs, it won’t be able to process them fast enough for DJ needs.
Tests of MPC Live III by YouTubers show it takes approx twice as long as the audio length, so a three minute track would take around six minutes.
The upcoming XL has way more RAM though, so we’ll have to see how that performs.
Moin @Skaratak ,
Since ever I’m working on Prime 4 and Prime 4 plus I use the vertical sreen. In the meantime I’m used to it, don’t ask me why.
