A truly disappointing update – still no metadata editing possible on the device – I would have at least expected a star rating, no color tag, no Spotify streaming.
I’m aware it’s a maintenance patch.
Sometimes, fixes and improved stability by maintenance patches are more than welcome! Even more than big features patches, specially for a device that must be used in front of an audience!
I wish for all people, include me a new Player with a powerful CPU that can handle wave and flac files easy.
Now the sc5000 + sc6000 lags with this files little bit. Not a drama but different to the cdj Nexus >
Yes yes yes ![]()
Be thankful for any updates whatsoever, regardless of number of features offered and especially whether those features were your pet-request, or “just” someone else’s.
Well, just googled by…. looking for some answers on possible new DJ Tools. I ordered a Prime 4+ which my supplier canceled with a note. “No longer available” On my question for a SC6000 I got the same answer….
Is there any expectation that a new “SC7000” player will be released during 2026?
That’s the point of this whole thread if you read it.
Well Mojaxx has hinted in his DJ City 2025 summary that inMusic has “a lot” of “exciting” things coming, and that NAMM in Jan (20th-24th) will be “unusually busy”….
One thing that’s already leaked (although not necessarily of interest to all DJs) is the Akai MPC XL, which is apparently going on sale around the same time as NAMM.
Someone’s done a rather nice AI render of the original box image.
“THE ULTIMATE STANDALONE IS ABOUT TO GET EVEN BETTER”
Cool.. ![]()
IMO, for this to really hold true…. I would surely think it would have to have all of the following;
(1) CPU / DAC upgrade.
(2) Larger adjustable Jog wheel upgrade.
(3) Adding Channel Fader Start to the Prime 4/4+’s built in Cross Fader Start.
(4) Improved STEMS w/STEMS FX.
(5) A larger display or multiple displays.
(6) A safety cache added especially to BT so it can populate a waveform and finally be loaded to a deck.
(7) An even further enhanced version of the Prime 4/4+’s Automix.
(8) Have a Bass, Treble & Mid Master EQ (or even a 10 band eq would be killer) which has been long awaited and essential for those plugging into someone else’s amp and speakers at venues that restrict full access or situations where you can’t get to the back of the speaker’s EQ controls.
(9) Expanded FX, Samples and lighting controls.
(10) This one is a stretch but adding ai or software control (pc like performance) is coming one way or another. I feel ai is going to play a big part of this industry’s future.
(11) RGB Waveform options.
YMMV ![]()
Haha it was inevitable - someone was bound to make a video!
EDIT (There’s at least 4 videos actually)
With the two thread removals here yesterday, it seems Rane are trying to keep a lid on it, which I guess discounts the theory that the leak was planned.
Anyway, looks like a nice bit of kit.
I’m waiting for a used Maschine Jam to arrive. Bought it yesterday.
Seems cred, and if so, it’s the next logical evolutionary step for Rane and Engine DJ. I hope Engine DJ gets more TLC so we all reap some benefits.
Without speculating on any announcements that may or may not be forthcoming, it’s worth noting that if Rane were to support Engine DJ through compatible hardware, this would naturally introduce another brand-level stakeholder within inMusic, potentially strengthening the internal case for further development investment.
It’s surprising that no one has pointed out the presence of RGB waveforms on an Engine DJ product.
Maybe some of us are just not bothered about the colour of the waveforms

To be honest, I don’t really care about it either, but if this image is real, it means that this feature, so requested by many people, has been implemented in a version of Engine DJ.
Teasers appearing online now. January 20th apparently.
