While it’s conceivable from a marketing strategy perspective that products from other InMusic brands could be supported with a device of this type, it’s completely unrealistic to imagine third-party brands like Native Instruments or Pioneer being supported.
This won’t happen. Even though it would certainly be beneficial from a user’s point of view, it would be strategically nonsensical for InMusic because it wouldn’t impact sales of its own brands. Therefore, InMusic has every interest in prioritizing support for its own brands over third-party manufacturers.
of course they are requests ? If you go and look at the feature requests, Denon DJ users have been asking for RGB waveforms and a controller with motorized platters for years ! Something that no one ever asked Rane for, because they didn’t even have Engine DJ ! So they gave the features requested by Denon users to Rane users, users who never asked for those features, I wonder if you understand what I mean ?
To be honest, Lego could say they’re about to launch a DJ controller and people would “expect” it to have pretty waveforms and spinning jogs/platters
It’s just parallel requests. Those features may never ever appear on Denon DJ gear - after all “Requests” are not promises …
And even if a single forum for rane doesn’t mention such requests (repeat: requests!) it doesn’t mean that Rane stick their fingers in their ears and close their eyes when they have other interaction with real-world users at trade shows, non-rane forums etc.
If you yourself were going to design a new device, wouldn’t you do some research on other existing user groups to find out what everyone else out there wanted? I’d hope that you would.
So the remaining vitriol in your comments can only really be “I’ve got a Prime, I want free RGB waveforms” … which might happen in a future free firmware upgrade, might not - we didn’t pay for RGB waveforms, we weren’t ever promised RGB waveforms.
To be more precise:
Engine DJ users have been asking for these features, and these have been delivered, limited to the System One, for now. It’s not ruled out that a future update will unlock it to all other current devices, or at least, it will be introduced with the next-gen hardware.
Also, Rane always had the stronger focus on motorized platters. It would be a bit weird to release a motorized version of the Prime 4 when the System One already exist. Though, in all fairness, the Rane only has two channels and no Ln/Ph-Inputs. But adding these to a Prime X/8/whatever or System Two would probably push the MSRP beyond $3000.
InMusic is one brand, they put hardware features in sub-brands where they think it makes sense. Rane already has controllers with motorized platters, so it makes sense to put them there. Engine is still one software, so software features can still come to all sub-brands. Just have some patience.
The request was only made in 2020 and it was never implemented! Now we are in 2026 and they put it in the trash! And there is not even a shadow of the functionality request! If it can’t be put on Denon, a little transparency and saying it can’t be done would be enough! I think so and I think that whoever voted for that will certainly feel disappointed!
Votes are votes, not any sort of contractual binding agreement that a -request- will 100% be added, without fail on or before someone’s 6th birthday or next New Year’s Eve etc
The feature might appear on existing models… if so it’s a bonus - it might not. If it does, I hope, for the dozens of thousands of users who don’t need cosmetics and don’t want waveform rendering time potentially affected, that the bonus can be turned on and off in the preference menu, as it’s been implimented on the Rane.
You seem to be labouring under the impression that every request -will- be implemented - that’s not the case.
There have been several requests for various changes to the waveform … stacking them between decks, pretty colours, more zoom out, more definition, spikier transients, even more left slide on the playback head…. It makes sense that InMusic would try to combine their work on the waveforms in one surge of ideas rather than change one aspect of the waveforms, then a few months later try changing the waveforms again to look into a different request relating to waveforms, then a few months later revisit waveforms again; each time unlocking some of the work and development that they’d already done.
Instead it makes more sense for InMusic to decide what changes they are, and are not going to make to waveforms and spend a decent amount of time on getting two or three changes in, all in one go - a marathon, rather than a sprint. It takes time and no request ever came with a countdown timer (although someone probably requested one)
I’ve just put an 9"inch clear vinyl from my old sc3900 !
The control surface is so much nicer , the spindle is no longer an issue for my hands .
It would be killer If any anyone from Rane here can push the idea of having a smaller quick release adapter (something like the one on the Hercules T7/T10) that fits regular vinyls without drilling any holes
Beta testers on any software in any industry are always testing the next version in the background. Testing involves doing a deep dive into the software then reporting back any issues or filing bug reports and uploading log files. At which point fixes are worked on and the next beta version is released to re-test. Once the version becomes stable enough there will be a ‘release candidate’ that is tested a final time before the build is released to the public.
Hopefully you find this information useful, and it gives you an insight into how upgrades and updates work.
I don’t understand if I’m talking to you or to the wall! I said that they gave the features requested by Denon users to Rane users! Maybe I have to explain it in a different language for you to understand? And I’m not even saying that they were obligated to give us the requests as someone wrote above!
It’s the same ecosystem, how many times do we need to say this. Yes it’s disappointing 4.5 hasn’t been cascaded down to Denon or Numark units yet but there’s no reason to suspect that won’t happen, is there?
I’ve raised a support ticket asking this very question so let’s see what I get back before jumping to conclusions.
It looks like it’s more of a cop out on your part. The wind has all blown out of your sails. You’ve reached the end of coherent discussion, with no more points to make beyond “ I haven’t received the free stuff I asked for, and I noticed the free stuff I requested has appeared on another model, a model I’d have to pay moment for to own and to get the feature I wanted added free onto my Denon DJl”
Perhaps the difference between a -requests- section, and a genie in a magic lamp has a very thin line of reality between them for some.

I gotta agree with Homeland on this … when they said that your rambling is incoherent.
If you want loads of new features that you didn’t pay for, you’re already with the right brand - but don’t expect every single one of the hundreds, if not thousands of requests that come in from users to be added.
As users we’ve already had far more than our moneys worth from Denon DJ and Prime models in particular
