Another year without any updated single-unit hardware would play significantly into the hands of the major competition. It’s difficult to fathom why DenonDJ should give up such a hard-earned technical advantage so easily.
There are rumors that delivery of the Rane System One has been underway for months. This would mean that internal capacities and resources have been available since completion. However, the team behind Engine shows that it is very responsive to the wishes of many users and tries to implement them. The recently introduced Akai devices also demonstrate how consistently development has been driven forward. The fact that these new functions are being released first in a Rane device, even if it causes some dissatisfaction among loyal Denon users, fuels speculation that the teams are working on something fundamentally great that will solidify their position and lead the way for the next ten years. Perhaps they are not yet ready to show this publicly on a stage like NAMM. In any case, something like this would cause such a stir that, in the age of social media, DenonDJ is not necessarily bound to tradefairs for any equipment releases. In a few hours, we´ll see if DenonDJ is at this year’s NAMM inmusic booth. All inmusic daughter companies refer to 204A, maybe there will be something spectacular at the bigger 204B?
Gator cases were supposed to drop a lot of new cases at the NAMM this year. And according to Mojaxx there is a Decksaver in production.
Yeah, that will require some muscle memory change. No biggie, and other Rane gear (One, Performer…) also have them there - same for many boutique and rotary mixers.
Cases are just a matter of time. Though I admit, for my ~10kg Prime 4, I still prefer to use a bag. It‘s hard/robusr enough, that I can still place the entite device on it for elevation, if needed.
Yes, that’s what I meant. A soft carry bag rather than a wooden/metal case.
Three major European DJ gear suppliers have confirmed that DENONDJ Prime SC6000, LC6000, Prime 4+ and DENONDJ XM 1850 products have been discontinued. So if DENON DJ continues their story, it must happen in a short period of time…

Small unit and then hooking up turntables with big casing.. I like mobility, but dont see the point for this device. Maybe there is a market for prime go with spinning platters?
If it had two upfaders and some pads, even in a slightly larger format, while still remaining smaller than a Numark Scratch, I would have been sold. It would have been a fantastic companion for my LC6000s at mobile events.
The Mixtour Pro could be an alternative, but it still lacks proper pads. I like having the pads on the mixer for stems and keeping the LC pads for hot cues (or vice versa). This saves me from having to switch between modes and allows me to combine both at the same time.

So still nothing new from Denon after the minor update to the Prime Go over a year ago. That’s pretty disappointing then.
Also have to say the disjointed release of the Rane system One (with Serato and stems support at some point in the future) isn’t ideal either.
VDJ usually supports new controllers on the day of release but not a peep on this one either.
A bit of a marketing mess.
We’ll keep the Prime 4 Plus until Alphateta outshines Denon! Denon hasn’t released anything new for years now!
Sorry but In-Music gear (whether Denon, Rane or Numark) is significantly cheaper with far more features. I don’t quite understand your statement.
And because I have a feeling that Denon won’t present anything new at NAMM! I have two Prime Plus and a Go Plus! But I’ve been hoping for a new product for a year now, but I’ve lost faith! And what bothers me most is that they put the new features in a product that isn’t Denon! New features that we’ve been asking to be added to Denon for years, but they put them on a new product! Which isn’t Denon! And it’s the same philosophy as Pioneer! You want me to make do, buy a new controller, give me your 2500 euros and I’ll make you happy!
