New gear for 2026

I’m disappointed about missing statements and informations from the Mods here about many questions here. I wonder what this forum will offer me in the future?

The “mods” do just that, moderate the forum. They are not in charge of product releases or marketing.

In-Music do that themselves and staff members release information as they see fit.

Bear in mind that inMusic are at NAMM right now.

What info or statements do you miss?

I see several assumptions being made. Some of them can be answered, but in due time. Might be by me, but only if staff approves it.

As for firmware, devices from 2017 onwards still get new versions. Not all newer features will be available to older devices, of course.

We might see more paid features in the future, like stems currently. We might see features that can’t be done on older hardware etc. I think you don’t need a statement on logic reasoning.

And yes, NAMM is underway soon. Busy times.

“As for firmware, devices from 2017 onwards still get new versions.”

This is, what i’m like to hear. Thanks.

I saw a review of the System One where a Rekordbox USB drive is inserted and a previously unplayed track is loaded onto the deck. EngineOS then analyzes the track, taking approximately 5 seconds to complete the analysis. I didn’t pay attention to the track’s duration, however.

So, at first glance, I’d say there seems to be a slight improvement in track analysis speed, but nothing truly instantaneous.

The 4GB of RAM is indeed confirmed on Rane’s official product page.

Since 8GB isn’t an option, at least 6GB would have been better to ensure future-proofing.

That guy is next level. He’s always building very cool gear. Did you see he’s Sl1200 stand-alone dvs mod? Insanely cool!!

The Rane System One looks great and really has delivered on a lot of the feature requests we have been making for the last 5 or so years. While I do understand technical limitations of older hardware, I really hope Denon plan on sharing a few of the features that we all know are within the older units capabilities. My hopes are for the option for rgb waveforms and a way to actually listen to stems on the desktop software after creating them…. the eq would also be a welcome addition. This would be a nice way to say ‘thank-you’ to existing Engine users for all their wonderful idea’s that they get directly from the feature requests, without which they would only be guessing as to which features are really wanted.

I really want to order one but having had the Prime Go plus for the past year I want to know bugs have been fixed and long standing missing things have been implemented before committing.

What bugs & long standing missing things are you referring to? There are so many feature requests and not all of them are very popular, so this could be anything. Regarding the bugs… did you report them?

Yes all reported and accounted for by the dev team. Beatgrid errors, Prime Go plus not acknowledging preview player state on reboot. Prep list stops working after a period of time. Thanks for your interest.

Damn ok. Must be specific to the Go+, coz my P4 doesn’t have any of those issues.

The poor beatgrids are universal. Even Mojaxx mentioned it in his System one review.

I analysed 6 new tracks today and two of them were way off.

Beatgrids could be more robust (they are “okay” for me), but Engine DJ desktop needs more attention in general. I am aware the dev teams are very busy right now, but the stagnation there becomes concerning. Simple things like option for chronological hot cues or change their default colors, auto-relocate that actually works, or more powerful library/sorting/filter/tag options in general, are in dire need of more focus.

I never had issues with preview or playlist on my P4 or Live4, though. Aside some visual lags and stutters, which are unpleasant, but didn’t affect my audio so far.

Back to topic, here is more new gear:

I wonder if it sits closer to the former RP4000 line (Hanpin midrange) or RP6000/7000 (Hanpin Super-OEM). Buttons and tonearm base look similar to the former, and it has neither 4.5kg torque nor Line-Out, so maybe a modified DJ3560. Also weights just 8kg. Meh.

I agree here. I find them ok but def could be better.

I saw that, but then again he is comparing it against Djay Pro which pretty much ‘beats’ everything. Anyway, when you said ‘beatgrid errors’ in my mind, I was thinking of an error related to something other than poor grid analyzing. So in that respect, for sure that’s universal. For most of my dance music, the grids are cool (except DnB), but 80’s etc… it is quite bad.

I’ve been saying this for years.

The motor is the same as the atlp-140XP. Decent for scratching, but a good 0.1% wow+flutter, so not the greatest for mixing.

I would love to see a rp-7000 mk3 in the technics style body like this, tho.

The team behind Engine should get a payrise as what they have built over the past few years is great. is it perfect no and there’s still improvements to be made, if the System 1 does well (and it will) and if the Engine OS is what people are using as their main software not Serato thats a big W for in music, but that may take some time as if you’re using serato already you probably won’t go beyond a simple test with Engine but Rane still wins by units sold.

Pretty sure Numark will drop a budget standalone with Engine onboard as well not sure about Denon though now maybe 2 new devices and significant upgrades to the prime series the sc live series may sit this cycle out given its only been 3 or so years.

A feature i would like but will not likely happen is when a customer sends over a playlist i could send it to engine and it can pull it together if i have the songs or download straight from tidal or something, i’m sure that would be quite complex but isn’t that what AI is for? An extension to that would the decks having a scanner so if the customer has the song on their phone can just use the scanner finds the song or identifies where i can get

The SC5000 turns 10 next year. I have a massive hunch that Denon’s next flagship player will drop to tie in with the anniversary

Maybe it’s a Rane thing but I find it bizarre the headphone sockets on the System One are at the far right side. All my current controllers (MCX8000, FLX10 and Prime Go+) have the sockets to the left of the front panel.

Also can’t find any carry cases for it either, normally they are released the same time as the controller.
