New gear for 2026

Technically,

I guess it’s really considered a three channel unit although having limited third channel (BT/AUX) capabilities.

Only limited by your imagination that’s is..

One could get very creative with just a connected iPad running Samples & FX etc, etc..

Have any of the reviewers covered the sampler, and if so - are there any improvements?

You know, like actual looping and syncing.

I don’t care about crossfaders. Worsening the trend of the Euphonia’s lack of digital output with now no digital inputs, too, and while three actual work channels on top is, IMO, the optimal number, only if you’ve got input matrixing and like 4 or, better yet, 5 rear channel groupings to choose from. If I got this for just 3 CDJs, which sounds on the surface like a fantastic idea considering InMusic’s aversion to Hi-Fi sound from their players’ processing, I demand SPDIF inputs at this price for a digital mixer. Sorry, but this design’s an automatic fail on multiple aspects. That’s a shame, because I was actually looking forward to this release and getting one.

Apparently no progress on that front.

Where are these specs from btw?

It still is a bold marketing move. Now here is a Rane device that has a few long requested features before the Denon range has them. It also has something that you me looks like a more professional layout (for example green/yellow/red VU) (I know, this is subjective). Also, Rane is possibly slightly higher regarded by some, because it has a history with serato, the scratching community, and some rotary mixers, all being less distant in the past (2010-ish?) than Denons twin CD players (2001 and before).

I am really trying hard to be objective here, and understand the reasoning behind InMusics strategy, but my little toe is already giving in, and telling me that this Rane System One is better than the Denon range. Which it is not, I know. But marketing creating this doubt in my little toe cant be good…

Different brands for different audiences with various low/mid/high tier products. I believe having a common OS in EngineDJ will boost resource capacity for this software (basic economics of scale).

DJ Yoshi thread on Reddit seems to anticipate much more to come in upcoming updates.

Rane System One : r/DJSetups

Older devices might start not receiving all / new features, but I think they will keep tagging along with the primary code base as long as possible (which is highly appreciated by all customers for past years).

Curious if the new hardware platform will have it’s own “What.. it had bluetooth inside all this time?!’ -moment.

Regarding many of Denon’s older devices, one could argue that it’s time to discontinue their current development, as they (like the Prime 2 or Prime 4) are already quite old.

However, I absolutely don’t see this as the case with the Prime 4+ and the Go+.

These devices are practically “new.” And especially with the Prime 4+, one can expect that the “Plus” doesn’t just mean streaming Amazon titles.

I do expect that a device in this price range should be involved in the latest development for a while.

The bold announcements of “Instant Standalone Stems,” which haven’t been delivered to this day, were already disappointing enough for some.

If Denon’s flagship were now to be superseded by Rane, then in my opinion, that wouldn’t be a marketing move, but a fiasco!

These devices are practically “new.” And especially with the Prime 4+, one can expect that the “Plus” doesn’t just mean streaming Amazon titles.

But it means exactly that. The hardware and chip specifications are exactly the same. The Plus models have no more power or memory than their non-Plus cousins. They are just optical facelifts with some DRM adjustments and that’s it. In other words, all based on the same architecture as the SC5000, if you like it or not. This, of course, shouldn’t be an excuse for these devices suddenly get no more support or updates from now on - and this isn’t going to happen. But expectations should be kept realistic. Eventually it’s time to move on.

However, if it’s true that we are dealing with an even weaker RK3566 or similar, combined with just 4GB of RAM, that we (and the devs) have to rely on for the next 5-6 years, I would be quite disappointed, being honest here. Even wihtout on-board Stems in mind, we need some reserves. We already see how our current chips show issues (loading times, slow boot, lags, temporary freezes), as over the years, more and more functionality got added. Not that we are going to face the same situation again in a few years, just because we skimped with 4 vs 8GB of RAM.

Buyed my Prime Go one day before Go+ came out, but no regret. Hope my just 1,5 year old gear benefit from Updates like the RGB-Waveform.

this feature,10 band EQ will amazing to have it on prime 4 series ,cause it has the zone output ,main output ,and the booth output

That doesn’t interest 99.9% of buyers at all!

They’re interested in the features and the release date. And that’s how it’s sold.

Regarding continued support for updates to the RK3288 architecture, I think we need to be more pragmatic.

The architectures of the RK32 and RK35 series aren’t that different, so InMusic could easily just implement what’s feasible, where processing power isn’t a real limitation.

I’m thinking of features such as:

  • Adding streaming services (Spotify)
  • NAS service
  • Workflow/quality of life/ergonomics improvements (for example, button combinations not assigned to specific functions)
  • Improved sampler/synced loop sampler (it shouldn’t require more processing power to loop playback than to play a single track)
  • Maybe even the Parametric Master EQ (it’s just an EQ, not particularly resource-intensive)
  • Stem FX (no more resource-intensive than other FX)

In short, a whole bunch of things that don’t require a lot of processing power and that the RK3288 can still easily handle.

But it’s clear that some features that benefit from the RK35 platform certainly won’t be able to be ported, such as:

  • Omnisource
  • Perhaps RGB waveforms? (Could impact scrolling fluidity on the RK32)
  • On-board/background pre-analysis for stems (though probably not truly on the fly)

I think there are still quite a few things proposed in the feature requests that could be easily implemented on the RK32 platform. But there are also probably some requests that exceed the platform’s technical limitations or risk slowing down/degrading the overall experience.

The developers will have to sort through what is realistic and what isn’t feasible for the RK32, and what isn’t will be reserved for the RK35.

Then perhaps the RK35 is just an intermediate step and they plan to quickly move to the newly unveiled RK3688 in the next Denon range… a SoC that would offer 32 TOPS of AI power, so theoretically it could be capable of true live stemming without pre-analysis.

The big question is whether we’ll be stuck with the RK35 series for the next 5 to 8 years, as was the case with the RK32 platform, or if they’re planning a faster transition to the RK3688.

As for the 4GB of RAM, I’m not really surprised given the current exorbitant cost of RAM.

I play video files (which are supported) on my Prime Go+ and I get glitches when loading a second file. Using the service overlay shows that the RAM on these units is insufficient (let alone on a 4 deck controller) and the RAM bottoming out is the issue with that. Adding extra features like Engine Lighting and having that active makes the problem worse.

I’m curious about this Omnisource thing…

Rather than (on the old units) basically shutting down the internal computer in controller mode, maybe Omnisource is keeping Engine OS running, and communicating with external DJ software like a P2P network, computer to computer.

Something similar to Pro DJ Link, with added data for control.

???

STEM effects shouldn’t pose a problem either.

In the image, four tracks are playing simultaneously, all with FX ON.

The left and right tracks are different.

Each track is playing different STEM tracks.

Additionally, all sweep effects are active per channel. Only one can be active at a time. The system load showed NO change. The image shows the P4+ even after just one hour of normal use.

My intention here isn’t to interpret the values; that’s neither our place nor our ability. Only the developers can do that!!!

However, I can certainly deduce from this whether certain things the device could handle or not.

The only value that changed under the completely absurd test scenario was the median, which roughly doubled.

The value only decreased again after I stopped all tracks. The filters/loops/stems showed no change.

I think this could be a really powerful feature, especially if it actually takes over everything from the guest system, like beatgrid and all the other functions the guest system offers – for example, DjayPro, VDJ, or maybe even Traktor?

Then it would definitely be a killer feature.

Imagine a Denon system, and no matter what laptop or system the DJ uses – it just works!

This could even be dangerous for AT, because one thing is clear:

All standalone systems lag significantly behind software solutions.

Even Serato can hardly compete with DjayPro or VDJ, and the same goes for RB.

It doesn’t help that you’re (still) the market leader.

Mojaxx did mention in his review that you couldn’t sync beat for example between Engine and external sources.

From what I’ve seen in various French reviews, OmniSource works as if you could open computer mode on the deck of your choice. Basically, you choose between the internal deck and the “computer mode” deck.

This implies that you can switch to computer mode on only one deck and that the change is immediate. Theoretically, this should work with any external software as long as it supports this feature.

Regarding the stem FX, that’s exactly what I had in mind. It shouldn’t be any more resource-intensive than any other combination of effects, and the same goes for the master EQ.

There are still ears for that. But if even such a rudimentary function doesn’t work, I’m almost certain it’s just data access and rudimentary remote control of the guest system.

To be honest, that wouldn’t excite me. But others might… :slightly_smiling_face:
