New gear for 2026

Wait!? That’s not a mic level fader??? :exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head:

Nope:

It even seems to sit closer to Ch1, than Ch1 sits to Ch2. This is just dumb.

Oh, and the filter is really ‘just’ a filter this time. No Sweep FX. Oh, and also no ’proper’ Beat FX. Dual headphone cue circuit (A+B) also got removed. But at least hey kept the 4-band EQ and that silly SonicLink button with glowing logo.

Agree, just dumb!

The FX section works very similar to the Mastersounds FX box, which is a pretty cool way of working.

Yeah, but to leverage that, you need to spend another grand for a good external FX unit (preferably to them one of their own devices, of course).

I just regard the price value of this thing as pretty bad, considering how many features got removed - minus the fewer channels, obviously.

I think you could get away with just the internal ones here, the tape echo and short delay alongissde reverb and filter cover a lot of needs, especially if you pair it up with DJ software.

In the age that I (and many artists that I know) need more channels, alpha theta releases a mixer with less channels

They do offer a version with more channels though

I thought it was the mic level too, especially with the three knobs alongside. :man_shrugging:

It seems to be a return level, so the choice of label is a bit odd.

You came to mind when i saw that announcement.

I think you are the only 3 channel DJ I “know”

No crossfader!

Im beginning to think im the only one that exists lol. There must be some guys out there who still love the Rane Empath and Vestax mixers with 3 channels?

Honestly the workflow of the V5 is absolute perfection for me as an all in one unit to replace my Radius 4, FX box and Reloop Flux, the price however isnt, if it was say 1200 quid id call it an absolute success.

They must have carried out research to release it though, so there must be other weirdos like me out there.

Ironically i want a crossfader now im collecting 45s, and no longer have a mixer with one, but i have to say in over 20yrs of doing ‘house music’ events ive never seen a single person using one, and never seen a single DJM mixer with them set on anything other than through mode. Its only since doing gigs with the 7s that my mates DJM-750 has them assigned with the sharp cut.

One thing I found weird though is at 17:30 when Mojaxx has a Serato track playing on the right, the track loading screen just shows “Computer”, not the track info. Surely if you already have that info on the deck screen, they could show it there.

Possibly something they need to shore up before the release.

I’m not a crossfader user either. To me it limits your control of the levels, as with the upfaders you’re not restricted to the “cable car” scenario of one level going up while the other goes down.

Mojaxx though thinks “It’s stupid” not having one

having seen the mojaxx review for the system 1 i know this device is not for me but being able to swap between laptop and standalone bodes well for devices that are coming later, I wouldn’t be to obsessed with the feature set of this device as it is not ‘new’ the fact mojaxx said he has had it for months likely means he was right that In Music could have released it back in late 2024 or 2025 had it not been for AP attempt to acquire Serato.

This new 5.0 firmware needs to have fluid beat grids and real time stems (on engine) needs to become a reality this year and to be at a comparable standard to other platforms as most djs will expect this especially if the devices are on the premium end of the scale. Inmusic no doubt know the success if their new gear is inherently linked to how good Engine is I only use DJ Pro for stems. The coloured waveforms will be well received by most i doubt i will use it too used to the current waveform style

I hope a 4 channel version becomes available i know the system one is aimed at the scratch dj market but some of us also want the ability to have motorised jogs with flexibility of 4 decks im thinking the sc live 4 but with motorised jogs that would be great.

If Denon is seeking to release new media players it will be interesting to see what features it has but the sc6000 continue to serve me well so ill likely skip the 7000s.

I wonder if there will be a new Prime Go as I  my OG go and would only part with it the newer model is significantly better.

I guess it says more about the market than the device, Mojaxx is actually really flexible by and large but he is a scratch/battle DJ at heart so i guess he needs to have that on all devices.

We seem to have this weird scenario where lots of people think every single device has to be their own personal shopping list of items, and if it isnt the device is complete fail. What i like about Mojaxx is he can still do a good fair review of something despite misgivings of his own.

Yeah the comments under the videos are always amusing. Things like “it’s a toy because it doesn’t have digital inputs”, “4 channel EQ is not for scratch DJs”, “three channels makes no sense” and “…a crossfader for the mobile DJ market”

The fader section seems to be replaceable, so probably a module like on the V10. Rotary option perhaps even as well.
