No other software features or bugfixes ? Seems i stay on 4.1.0. Never update running system.

Yes, good decision, im using 4.0.0 for the same reasons.

Why not read the notes on the download page? I’ll add them below, as some don’t know how to use the internet:

Improvements and Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where tracks failed to download if continuous playback was enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where in rare circumstances, audio pops/clicks could occur when playing 3 or more tracks.
  • Fixed an issue where large stem lists could be slow to populate.
  • Improved the speed when switching between two source drives.
  • General performance and stability improvements.

Why not write this in the first post ?

On-Device Color, On-Device Play Count and On-Device Rating, which would need to be available within Engine DJ Desktop as well.

  1. We can’t zoom in on waveforms on Engine DJ Desktop to fix beatgrids.
  2. We’re still getting “warning messages” every time we Export, which don’t pop up immediately and require us to sit and stare at the screen for five minutes until it pops up. After clicking “Okay”, it will then actually export.
  3. Our Smart Playlists are a good start, but severely lacking in functionality and severely limited
  4. We still can’t sort/select all red/bad tracks/files to remove from the Collection
  5. The software doesn’t actually analyze if it finds any BPM data in tags. Even when first imported, your beatgrid will be off and you have to Re-Analyze every track you import to force it to run proper analysis on the track
  6. We can’t import tracks from remote/NAS drives

When you select Apple music on the machine, it shows a QR code. Scan it and open the app. You will have to sign in or create an account. For a couple days, Apple was not on the list, but it is now.

This is actually already possible. After loading in a track in Engine DJ Desktop, press control and the + key. Alternatively, press the Zoom In (+) button on the right side of the waveform when hovering over it.

Thanks for correcting my misunderstanding. I’ll cross that one off the list.

For me, this is the point where I would seriously consider buying the SC6000+ once it came out. Prime 4+ is not an option for what I do (back to back DJing)…

Is there a reason why in the apple music desktop app Denon aren’t listed as a platform partner like Alpha Theta, serato, rane and djay are?

Just curious.

!Not actually info, reboot and done successfully!

Apple Music, Amazon Music Ultimate, Beatport work great :+1:t2: Thanks Denon and community

Denon DJ SC LIVE 4 attempt to update OS from 4.2 to 4.3.1. Device via WiFi update is normal, rebooted and a window popped up warning that you can’t turn off and remove disks. I try to press the OK button, nothing happens. Does anyone know how long to wait and what to do in this situation?

  • The ability to save/edit playlists created on my player in the software.

You are “kicking” down a door that is open. This capability already exists in the DJ engine. It can be done differently than you maybe be used to…

  • The ability to use player as a control surface while using the app (i.e. beat grid, cue points, general navigation, etc…)

I don’t understand, i don’t see the point why someone would need, for the sake of editing functions, to link the player to a computer and Egnine DJ software.

  • Multiple Library Support. What means this???
Which multiple library support has RB or Serato etc.?

I completely understand that It requires newer hardware to get access to the million of songs Apple Music Catalog has to offer but what about our own tracks uploaded to iTunes Match and also available in Apple Music. Since Engine OS is supporting Apple Music API would it not be a consequent step to let us access our owned tracks and Playlist from any Denon Hardware ?

Please feel free to enlighten me how to do this then. I would be very grateful.

If I am trying to beatgrid and add cuepoints a mouse and keyboard are not efficient at this task

In Traktor you can switch between Collections. This way I could separate genres into different collections instead of playlists. Just less to deal with if you know you aren’t going to need 60% of your library.

Enlightenment can be found in the manual :grinning:

As for the multiple library thing, this is honestly the first time I’ve seen anyone mentioning this or suggesting it!

You could kinda do this with your SC6000s by using different storage devices (you have 3 x USB & one SD). Each device has its own database, so when you switch, the SC6000 reads it from that device.

Maybe a tip for PlayStation 5 owners. Through the PlayStation 5 you can get 3 months free Apple Music trial instead of the standard free month trial

This is going to huge for me as someone who has invested over 23 years in iTunes playlists (now Apple Music) that I still use to this day. I never would have expected Denon players to provide access to my cloud synced playlists but now that is here. All I can say is… wow.

One of the most time-consuming steps is taking songs in Apple Music and cherry-picking the ones I want to put into Engine DJ. I’ll still have to do that for the best tracks but now I can technically access almost anything in my Apple Music library directly.

I gave it a try yesterday and was thoroughly impressed with the speed. I used SoundCloud and Amazon Music for the previous three months and noticed searching was a bit slow. Apple Music searches seem to be nearly instantaneous.

Regarding songs from the Apple Music catalog not already on my USB or Apple Music collection, I was seamlessly able to find a few lesser known tracks, load them, and go to town.

Thank you, Denon.

Music and Amazon Music will not allow hardware to be used that doesn’t have a secure DRM protection chip onboard. This is why these services aren’t available on older hardware that does not have that chip.

Such idiotism from their side, and waste of resources. For every service there is a free and open source app to download from it in high quality, that is way more convenient than someone ripping it from their dj equipment.

And if someone wan’t to rip it with engine equipment, it is very simple and drm chip can’t stop it. Just plug analog output into good sound card(or even input from other prime device) and hit record.

When I want to record my sets with tracks from Tidal, I just use secondary prime device input, and hit record.

@Jake_Hill Not venting agains you, you had to do what you had to do, but again those resources spent on hardware design with new drm chip, then software to implement didn’t achieve anything practically to protect apple or amazon. They could have been used to bring out new cool features sooner.

So those 2 brands should go back to the record labels who allow them to stream their music and say “hey, we cant stop piracy so we’re not even going to bother, hope thats ok?”

What do you think would happen in that scenario?

“Hey, we cant stop people shoplifting, so lets just let them come and take everything for free with no resistance, what could possibly go wrong”
