Youâre vastly overplaying the impact of a minor cosmetic issue was your point, and in that respect, yes itâs valid.
The mobile phone market is completely irrelevant to this, because that device whole GUI is centred around that screen and cant be operated without using it, whereas DJ gear can be operated without using the screen, once a track is selected. So comparing occasional use with full use is misguided, and a form of deflection.
Donât see it as a âProblemâ. Itâs a small glitch that doesnât affect performance/playing in any way.
I believe it will be addressed but for sure not a priority at all.
For me, if I was the one allocating Dev resource, id much prefer them to be focusing on improvements like the additional âIfâ functions to Smart Playlists or getting Sweep FX (Filter on a Prime 2) into the headphone cue, these would be real quality of life changes for DJs. There are other things like record volume that are useful too.
Can anyone shoot a video perhaps? The waveform on my devices are smooth until the next section is loaded, then one stutter occurs (about every 20 or 30 seconds is my guess).
Pioneer waveform operates at about 5 or 10fps, so nonstop stutter imo.
Even with version 3.1.1 Continues is in the off position. This option doesnât react with my playlist.
3.2 tried it in ON positionâŚno cure. Did you try it with a playlist from a streaming service ?
Iâm definitely not trying to âreduce the impact of the stuttering waveformsâ. It really IS cosmetic only. Iâm not saying itâs something that doesnât need fixing as it does, only that itâs visual only and happens every 30 to 60 seconds or so. Itâs a pause in the waveform drawing which causes the waveforms to become less smooth, not a stutter (thatâs a repeat). Serato DJ had this same waveform drawing issue on their waveforms for years on Mac and it probably still exists on Windows. They fixed it but it took a long time.
Is it ideal? Nope. Iâd like to see it fixed though. One visual-only glitch every minute or so will not stop me enjoying what is an absolute awesome bit of kit. The team are aware and will address it but for now I hope it doesnât mean that you canât mix on your devices.
If you have an audio dropout then please add it to the thread quoted as that is a problem as the crowd could potentially hear it. That does need addressing.
ive got a prime 4+ and a 4TB evo 870 formatted to gpt as my installed main ssd drive and has worked fine. worked on shipped firmware and on the latest.
Finally I can give my praises here as well. By pure coincidence, 3.2 got released on the same day when I picked up my Control One. So this felt like Christmas to me!
Things I really like:
Albeit I donât need Day Mode in most situations, the implementation is well done!
Fuzzy Key Mixing is a highly welcomed addition, I am sure @philmorse agrees
The new EFX select mode with the touch overlay is far more convenient
I love the new Flex Gate, especially once the L/R Pan parameter comes into play
It could be just me, but I noticed slightly improved stability and snappiness overall
A small detail, but highly welcomed: The EFX On/Off button flashes much faster. As a guy who has to keep an eye on my music and visual performance at the same time, things quickly become hectic, hence instant visual feedback is crucial - thanks devs!
When did you guys add a screensaver?
Small bugs I encountered:
Engine doesnât remember the EFX setting for the new Flex Gate. It always defaults all parameters, even when changing between EFX.
Already since 3.1 I observed that Engine also doesnât remember my preferred horizontal waveform layout (Shift + View), it always returns to vertical waveforms after reboot.
Track Skip (<<, >>) buffering issues still persists, when quickly jumping through tracks, though it seems having improved (placebo?)
Not related to 3.2 but worth mentioning that the Control One is an immensely helpful device in my case. So far I had to control everything (browse, perform, SS main overrides, SS autoloops, SS intensity groups) via the 7" touchscreen, which becomes even more challenging when wearing a â6KG mask with limited vision. Now I can split my workflow and have proper haptic feedback. Nice!
