I wish in the library view it showed more info. I use the comment section for tagging music. I know most people don’t do that but I wish we could if we wanted to replace the waveforms in the library view with something else. I honestly don’t look at those waveforms I know some do but the option to replace them with something else would be great. Am I the only one that thinks this?
No you’re not alone. Several of us have said the same thing.
Nothing’s come of it yet though.
Definitely not alone. The browsing part can still use a lot of TLC.
Have a look at the feature request section. A lot of those request are related to browsing comfort. Sadly many of them get only a few votes: coloured waveforms, stems and other stuff seems a lot sexier on paper, but in the end our job starts with finding the right song at the right moment….
I use the comment section for tagging music, too and I’ve found that the smart playlist functionality is quite useful in conjunction with this. I tag tracks with the instruments they contain and set smart playlists up with these tags to help filter them.
Having said that, it would also be good to have more control over which fields are visible in the library view. Hopefully we’ll get some more control over that in a future version.
plus the color code dot for music ,its been a long time we have request those feature ,until now we still waiting
The more DJ is being able to see in the software the better the mix will end up being. It does shorten the time to make a decision. A song selector helper addon would be great for that to filter by the energy level / key / and bpm with optional extra display of song waveform preview that could be located right under the jogwheels display as an extra panel. It would be also great if it could enlighten the song in a key matching color in playlists to make them stand out more.
Does the ‘match’ function not satisfy that need? click it on when you want to see key matched tracks, off when you dont.
color code wil played a diffrent role compare with match
I doubt they are going to implement both though, they’ve designed the match feature to deal with key match.
sound nice ,cant wait for it
No waiting needed, it was implemented in 3.3.0
ok,i was thinking about a new update soon lol, miss understanding on my side lol
yeah man, i use the match all the time at gigs when i have a mental blockage… works every time.
No it doesn’t and why it would? The bpm will not be filtered and there is lack of energy level analyse
You’re talking about key matching though? and not BPM, im responding to this
Match does cover this requirement.
same here. For me, the waveform is of no use in Library View. I know my tracks, otherwise I would not play them. In the players however, waveforms a very important. I also would like to see comment information, I also use comments for important stuff I want to see when selecting files.
- We need Play Count visible in both Engine DJ Desktop and Engine DJ OS
- We need Rating visible in both Engine DJ Desktop and Engine DJ OS
- We need to be able to Rate a track on-device (ie: Engine DJ OS)
But other than seeing Play Count and Rating, I’d absolutely love it if I could see Genre as well.
i agree with your feature bruv, good one
Both of them are active feature requests that you can vote on. The more the merrier.
Oh yeah, I voted. I’m just super vocal because it’s a very low-hanging feature that would put Denon on par with Pioneer (imo), and something that’s been requested for years without much confirmation of any sort of priority.
When people ask me “Oh, you’re on Denon? How’s that?”, I’m sure to tell them that it’s great, except I don’t have Play Count (you should see their face when I say this) and I cannot Rate on-device.
I am hopeful that very shortly I can just tell them “Denon is great”.
