I played at a friend’s house on his equipment last night. It was a pair of Denon SC6000M and a xone 92.
He explained to me that one of his sc6000M refused to activate wifi.
And after verification this is indeed the case.
When we go to the control center in the wifi section, the switch does not activate on the screen and remains grayed out when touched.
When we go to the settings, device section, there is also a touch switch to activate wifi here with a toothed wheel just to the left. Here we can activate the switch which turns green. But even if wifi is on here, when we click on the toothed wheel, we find ourselves in the wifi part of the control center, and the wifi is still off and no wifi network appears.
This is really very strange.
We tried the following things for some tests:
reset factory
reinstallation of firmware 4.0
downgrade to firmware 3.4
Absolutely nothing worked
Note: I have eliminated the hypothesis of a problem with the touch area of the screen which would prevent wifi from being activated because all parts of the screen respond well in the Touch FX section.
The bluetooth activates without problem.
Could this be a hardware failure of the wifi chipset?
Hi mate, check the second post @STU-C posted above that shows the workaround that I was doing for using usb tethering from your mobile hotspot.
You can also try downgrading the os further to 3.2 to see if the wifi comes back to life, that’s also what I had to do.
As of this moment InMusic are currently in possession of my mixstream pro go with this issue as I sent it to them as a test unit so they can figure out why this wifi toggle bug is affecting random devices, hopefully they’ll have a fix for it soon & you can buy me a beer for making the supreme sacrifice & supplying my unit as a guinea pig test subject
Ahh no way, those Reloop ones look pretty cool as a budget option… im considering a pair to sit in flight cases for gigs.
I guess a cheapo Numark controller like the Mixtrack Pro or something might see you through Andy? thats what i use as a backup unit in case the Prime dies on me.
It’s ok, I got enough prep work to be getting on with at the moment + the kids are still on their school holidays so I’m juggling keeping them occupied till my wife finishes work then I go work in the evenings.
Ahhh yeah, fair enough… It was good of you to send the device in so they can work out what is going on though. Might end up helping hundreds of people in the end.
Well to be honest they contacted me & suggested it & I was more than happy to oblige, like you say if it helps everyone in the long run then it’s a bonus, let’s just hope they find something because it is a very random strange bug.
They said they’ll send me a replacement while trying to fix mine but I’ve not heard anything since last week so hopefully they got their heads buried in the pro go’s insides, as I said to them though I’m in no rush.
New Mixstream Pro Go has arrived after 2 weeks & the first thing I tested is updated to 4.0 & check the wifi toggle & it works, let’s hope it doesn’t happen again in any future updates.
That’s great news Andy… im wondering if its the chip itself, perhaps sourced from a different supplier. At least they have your unit now to do some proper testing.
Yeah possibly, they didn’t give much info into it whether they’ve found a fix or not, but they said it’s looking like an isolated issue so that’s why they gave me a new one & didn’t even try to repair it.
Can’t really see it’s an isolated issue though as there was a few people on here with the issue on different devices, also how many other users have experienced this that aren’t members of this forum that we don’t know about?
Either way let’s hope they do find something within my old unit & are able to find a fix for everyone else who’s still dealing with this.
Kids are back at school & the wife is in the office tomorrow, I have a day off so I will be slapping some D&B down the shed
We’re moving house soon hopefully and the new gaff has an open plan living area with Kitchen peninsula that is screaming for a deck setup facing out into the rest of the room when we have parties.
