Denon Prime 4+ / No WiFi after 4.0.0 update

Sup folks

I’ve seen a couple of posts on this issue already, but I cannot get the WiFi to turn on ever again after updating my Denon Prime 4+ to 4.0.0 (wirelessly!). The toggle in the settings moves but with no effect, and the toggle in the wifi menu doesn’t move and stay on the off position. Bluetooth connectivity is unaffected. I am available and tech savvy, so if the support team needs to get some logs from my device it would be my pleasure to provide them.

Cheers and thanks for moving the playing needle leftwards on the screen in 4.0.0 (cannot downgrade for this very reason)

Welcome to the no wifi club, I can’t update higher than 3.2 otherwise my wifi toggle becomes unresponsive.

Hi.

I got the same problem with Prime 4 after update to 4.0. How can we fix this??

If you require wifi rollback until a fix is available, hopefully they’ll get it sorted in the next update.

I’ve been in contact with InMusic for a little while now testing out various 4.0 beta builds to supply log files to them on my Pro Go to try & help them identify the issue but I’m getting the impression they’re struggling to recreate the issue on their devices so.

It might be worth factory resetting the Prime 4+ if you’ve not tried that yet. There were a few issues with 4.0 that were solved by factory resetting after updating.

I tried to do it a couple of times, to no avail.

How could I try to do the same for the Prime 4+? Support ticket or something else?

Yeah support ticket is the best way, explain the situation to them & they might send you some beta builds to test.

They’re aware of the issue but because it’s happening on random devices it’s a tough one, but the more log files we can supply them with the better.

Just found a temporary solution for all those having wifi issues on 4.0 tested & working.

Not sure if this works on ios as I don’t own one.

For android users simply plug your phone into your device via usb & enable your wifi hotspot on your phone then enable usb tethering & your device will use your phones wifi via usb connection.

No need to try & enable wifi on your device as this is where our issues are anyway so we cant.

Note: does not seem to work via Bluetooth tethering which I hoped it would, even if your phone supports network tethering over Bluetooth clearly the pro go does not.

(or at least this didn’t work for me but may work for you)

However the pro go does seem to accept wifi via usb tethering so that’s what I’m using.

Just incase you’re worried about the age of your phone I’m using a Samsung galaxy s10e from 2019.

Interesting workaround!

Just tried it, I could get USB tethering to work and access various sources across the Internet, but no luck with trying to turn on WiFi on my Prime4+ sadly. I’ll try and get in touch with the support team.

If you’re at home, some power line adapters and an Ethernet cable may also help.

Yeah it doesn’t fix the wifi toggle problem but at least you can gain wifi on your unit for your music streaming services via the usb tethering method, (charges your phone at the same time so that’s a bonus).

Saying this, InMusic have just been in touch with me via email offering a replacement pro go (swap out), I guess they want to use my unit as a test unit to find out what exactly is going on.

I really didn’t expect that to be honest & really appreciate that they made the offer as I was more than happy to wait for a fix.

Any fix in sight? I have the same problem also with bluetooth button and wifi not able to toggle off and on and iPhone hotspot not connecting anymore after upgrading from 4.2 to 4.3.3.

As mentioned above this happened to me on my mixstream pro go with version 3.4, unfortunately I had to send the unit back for replacement, luckily I was still under warranty.

As a fix read above, connect your phone via USB & enable USB tethering in your phone settings & use your phones internet connection (only tested/working with android/samsung) so not sure if it works on ios.

You could also try rolling back to an earlier build to get it working again then update back to 4.2 only as you know that’s the latest build that still worked for you.

The fact that you have this issue means I definitely won’t be updating my mixstream pro go from 4.2 to 4.3.3 as I’m out of warranty now & I’m not taking any chances.

Hi all, hope all is great. I had the same issue with my prime go and wifi. And I solved this issue by connecting my t-mobile 5g home internet box to the ethernet port on my prime go and it worked beautiful. I’m going to use it like this til denon releases a new update that fixes the issue.

I think the only fix is to send it in for a repair. The network card needs to be swapped out.

Generally there’s no fix other than replacement of the part.
