That sounds pretty credible to me… I’d say the “cat is out of the bag” at this point unless someone else can prove differently.

" First Ever Standalone Stems Integration
PRIME 4+ DJ controller brings the creative power of Stems to standalone DJing for the first time! With the exclusive Stems separation feature, you can quickly isolate vocals or instrumentals with a simple tap. The PRIME 4+ boasts a multi-core processor…"
Actually there is a full paragraph about it. Denon PRIME 4+ 4-Deck Standalone DJ Controller With WI-FI | Long & McQuade
I wonder if there would be a way to enable stems for the prime 4. Or if it truly comes down to not enough processing power
Well since the cat is out of the bag, I wonder if they’re using a proprietary algorithm or if they’re using something like Spleeter.
I don’t see why this should be a Prime 4+ only feature. Theoretically, they could make it so that the Engine desktop software does the analysis beforehand. Kind of like how Serato allows you to pre-analyze songs if you have a low-spec computer.
It won’t be for long.
Sc6000/M+ Maybe even the prime go.+
My brother in christ, Denon isn’t even using a proprietary pitch/key algorithm, it’s “just” Elastique, same as in Traktor.
If spleeter hasn’t evolved and still sounds like Algoriddim’s Neural stuff, then I sincerely hope that the EngineOS team has hired some DSP/AI engineers to make something as good as, or better than, VDJ’s stems 2.0.
Do you reckon stems feature will come to sc live 2 and 4 also?
Denon have said it’s for Prime 4+ only.
[thinks] They’re going to get so much stick if it sounds terrible…
Yup ![]()
Calculating high quality stems on demand requires some hefty GPU power. I fear that maybe that kind of hardware was not included in the P4+. But we’ll see soon enough…
just like pioneer and the new ddj400 something with the music collection. THE BEST WOULD BE A REMOTE CONTROL MIX FROM YOUR PHONE, really you can go dancing, to bar, walk around, go anywhere and mix without being behind the decks ![]()
That sounds like utter hell, and I wouldn’t pay a ‘DJ’ who’s focus is on walking around with their phone instead of putting on a show.
Just saw the stems video for the p4+.
Not what I was expecting but it looks like it might be an update for all prime gear.
Even the Bluetooth icon appears in the video.
Why do i now see day mode on the prime 4+ but not on the prime 4? This is not a feature that can’t be put in the prime 4 so why is it in the plus model but not in the prime 4. Stems can also probably be in the prime 4 too although without knowing the specs on the prime 4 internal computer I really don’t know that answer to that. However there os no reason that the day mode was not part of the 3.2 update for the prime 4. If you have a large enough hard drive in tje prime 4 as I do a 4TB STEMS should not be a problem either anymore be else see DJ CARLO’s POST ABOUT THE PRIME 4+ and showing features that Denon doesn’t even tell you about??? It’s Definitly something you should see.
That’s how marketing works. ![]()
Ok
See your own comment above. Best not to make statements based on zero knowledge id say.
Yeah they’re not where they need to be yet compared to Serato or virtual DJ which have hands down the best stems out there. (Look at DJ CARLO video on YouTube for the prime 4+ and you will see the stems and the day mode screen)But it’s good to see them getting this in not there devices problem is it’s not on the prime 4 even though it can be I think if you have a big enough internal SSD you should have enough room to have and use stems even in the prime 4. Also I can’t believe they only put day mode into the p4+ I mean that is a simple thing that can be put in any controller why not have it be part of the 3.1 update for all controllers since it is a desperately needed anyone that uses the p4 at an outside event knows you can’t see the screen even under a cover why they wait to put this in a future update is kind of a ridiculous idea. Should have been in this 3.1 update.
