The basics options are not there in engine DJ desktop!

for example, I use stars as an indicator of the track’s energy (saturation with instruments and sounds) …

I agree with you, my friend. And I’m sorry for the “fanboy”, I didn’t mean to offend. :pray:t2:

I have dreamed of a Prime 4 since its launch, but for my country, it is very expensive due to exchange rates and taxes. When Denon launched the SC Live 4 I was delighted. But really, I found myself frustrated when I opened the box and found faulty equipment. Then we move on to the more sentimental side. And that’s why I’m wondering: what is the longevity of this equipment? Can I really trust that one day he won’t let me down? That’s my doubt! It would be my first time purchasing an all-in-one.

About 3 years ago, I had the opportunity to get a brand new MC7000 but I didn’t because I didn’t like the “mirrored” layout of the decks, this bothered me, as I always work with CDJs and Pioneer controllers that have a symmetrical layout. But that in no way detracted from the equipment, which was beautiful, packed with functions (much better than a DDJ-SX3) and very complete.

Yes, this is a great option. I use stars too, but for the energy of the song in a certain category. The colors I use to classify between TOP, MID, TRASH, ACOUSTIC, SPECIAL, among others. As there is no Colors column, I created 200x200 figures and inserted them into the songs as ARTWORK so they appear in EOS. Obviously you can’t order them or group them by ART, but visually it helps.

Remember: there’s a difference between requests and demands

There’s nothing to say that every purchase entitles the owner to 100 new features, or 150 or 200 etc

I very much agree, however, I hope Play Count isn’t forgotten.

P.S. I love you homie <3

Yeah, but can Engine DJ do good library management? Also no!

That depends on your situation, Engine library management has been perfectly fine for my workflow.

Lucky. :sob:

Many have experience corrupt Databases with 4.0.

That’s not necessarily an Engine exclusive issue though is it. I seem to remember having corrupt drives a good few times using RB over the years. Formatting USB sticks and leaving it overnight to reload my library.

Fair point. I just hesitate to paint a picture that it’s “perfect”. And… in retrospect, I was being a bit pedantic.

You did qualify that it’s “perfectly for you” <3. =)

I need to refrain from looking at this forum first thing in the morning .

To be fair to myself, I’m a bit antsy w/ the db corruption problems plaguing Engine Desktop 4.0. I have a live stream today @ 5PM ET pairing with a popular musician & twitch DJ and i dread the next sync :sob:.

You’re just waking up, I’m just enjoying my first Guinness, well earned after doing girlfriend jobs all day whilst she is out

It’s defo not perfect, I’ve had to rebuild a few times after I got an insufficient storage message, but on the whole it does exactly the job I need… my process is much simpler than most though.

I play Centreforce 9PM my time, 2AM UK and it’s weird to me to say “good morning” to people who message the radio station .

Hope you enjoyed the Guinness :grin::grin:

I have 7 more in the fridge …. I feel the decks being switched on after the sun goes down, or technically a good bit before as it was summer solstice a couple of days ago so sunset isn’t until about 10pm.

That made me chuckle as I used to play online golf against some lads in Texas, was always weird the different stages of the day everyone was experiencing.

Do you use Soundswitch by any chance ?

No I do not . :-/

That’s alright. Just trying to find a solution to the exporting issue. I’m removing every deep files relating to engine and associated products

Rolling back to 2.x releases is still corrupting

Got no gig though

The issue with rolling back is you can easily run into a schema change issue. :frowning: changes can be minor like trigger, view, changes, etc…

@Gt01 , not sure if this is relevant, but i did notice in ~/Music/Engine DJ/Database2/ there are several corrupt db files, all ending in ..._fsm.db . Same issue with using PRAGMA integrity_check;, no problems found.

Is there any documentation online that details what each of these DB files are used for?

I rebuilt the db after rolling back.

Basically from ground up. Just like I’m in 2020 but it’s still corrupting

Using 2.x version of Desktop? Have you shared the logs from each run of sync from 4.0?

Hello. Please tell me how to perform bidirectional synchronization without losing some of the data changed on the PC and equipment. I have been using only Engine since I started using Denon.
