This is true, my friend.
Yes, unfortunately the developers are focused on steam and we know it. However, small corrections and implementations should have already been made.
An absurdity that I think EDJ still doesn’t have is the software “remain” the position in which a song was highlighted in the playlist right after leaving one and returning to it. All DJ software has this and it is very basic. But EDJ doesn’t have it!
The automated way they implemented to find lost files is ridiculous. It looks like they put it there just to say that it exists. Many people don’t use Lexicon or iTunes to manage their music. The vast majority already do this in DJ software. So why not add a complete tool?
“Color” column: this has been a request for almost 3 years and so far, not even a shadow! All established DJ software on the market has a “Color” column in their playlists, why doesn’t EDJ yet?
Another thing that frustrates me is: why don’t they put a complete playlist view, with columns, etc. in EOS? This “summarized” form that they insist on leaving is very disruptive, as the tracks lack visual information such as the year, for example.
And finally, who told them that the best waveform is GREEN, BLUE and WHITE? It’s a tiring, nauseating look and for those with visual impairments, it’s very difficult. It could have color options such as monochromatic, RGB, blue, etc. like many DJ softwares have!
The impression I have is that developers are very rigid when it comes to small fixes and implementations. It reminds me of Apple with its iOS…
Now that version 4.0.0 has arrived, perhaps this is a start for them to begin to see what users want, after all, what would they be without us?
Furthermore, improve the quality of your products. They still appear to me to be fragile and weak products compared to Pioneer, for example. My SC Live 4 unit came with the two jog displays completely shifted to the right. Yes, it wouldn’t be a problem for me to fix this, but as the device is under warranty, I returned it to the supplier, but I don’t know if I have confidence in getting a new unit, since this type defect (which in my opinion was a quality control problem at the factory), it could appear again or any other defect.
Unfortunately Pioneer products are more expensive, maybe because share of market, or something like that, they abuse the price. And not that Pioneer is free from defects, but they are less frequent.
Unfortunately, this is the reality. So I think about whether or not I’ll keep it at Denon or go back to Pioneer.
