Nice! Good to chat with another trance nut! Melodic stuff has always been what I love. So as you can imagine I was blown away when I discovered melodic and organic house, that and the more chilled stuff from Monster Cat Silk, is just perfect in my opinion.
Yeah I always end up having a good old mix of trance classics eventually.
Hey there,
■■■■■ to circle back on this but I have actually just found this thread as I am having the same issue and would love to know if you’ve figured out a solution.
For me, My beats are not aligning with the beat grid at the start of a lot of tracks but, It will automatically align itself after the 6th or 7th bar. I would like to provide screenshots but for some reason new users cannot upload images…
If anyone has any insight on this that would be great, Thanks.
I actually just did some digging through my collection and have noticed that it consistently happens with my .m4a tracks but not my MP3’s or WAV’s. Think that importing files in this format may be the issue. However, I am still happy to hear about what you guys think.
Best solution is to not worry about it. You’re only caring because you have them all in glorious fidelity on lovely touch screen ( assuming ). So just get on with enjoying mixing and forget about beat grids. Turn off quantise and only use your ears for everything. You’ll enjoy mixing a whole lot more.
Hey, while I do agree with you in certain aspects of your reply. Yes mixing with your ears only will definitely be more enjoyable. The thing is, for certain loops it would be almost impossible to get it spot on without quantize on. Leading me to my problem with this. At certain moments, if I ever did want to either sync the tracks or loop in/out with quantize on, it would be off beat with the tracks that ARE actually lined up perfectly.
Don’t mean to bug you over not having a solution to this, but this definitely is frustrating and very out of the ordinary for a DJ software to do.
If you or anyone else may have a solution, please let me know.
For uploading screenshots you can post them to a site like Imgur then provide the link for people to see it, there are specific forum board links that work here too.
It would be interesting to see the behaviour you’re referring to.
Most of my music is gridded correctly (lots of M4A files) and for those that aren’t I make use of the on screen grid editor to align them.
I don’t use quantise at all as I don’t like it, it has too much control over cue point placement and I’ve found it more of a hindrance, the same applies for it on CDJs that I’ve used over the years…. I never have issues with activating loops, as long as the BPM is correct and you hit the loop on the down beat it works fine, even missing the down beat isn’t an issue most of the time as long as the start and end point are consistent it should create a mixable loop.
