Show your home DJ booth (Part 2)

I’m watching a video on how the RMX-1000 works and looks awesome for a device that is that old, I wish Denon would come out with something similar or better.

You would have to connect the RMX 500 unit on the master out. You would also need an extenal recorder to record the effects. Not sure you’d want to do that though as it will degrade the output to your outboard equipment.

What PK suggested is possible as well.

Thank you @DaMelloOne

If You need more info about RMX1000, I have one, and can share my experience wit hit. I also had the RMX500, but sold it, as it wasn’t adding nothing interesting to my setup.

The RMX500 was actually the slightly more interesting and fun unit for me. I haven’t owned one yet, but always considered it. Basically, the SoundSwitch C1 replaces the role in my case, haha.

You have to be careful in certain situations when routing an external EFX unit’s audio back into the Aux or channel rather than just affecting the master out or using a proper snd/rtn circuit (which only the X1800/50 mixer offers). → risk of feedback loop

RMX500 had too many variations of echo/delay, not much of other fx like modulations or other. And the samples in it were useless, I use the SD card with my own samples on RMX1000. You can’t do that on the 500.

Ive used both and used to own an EFX-500, they are fun units but my current combo of Serato FX and Mastersounds FX unit is perfect, a balance of digitally quantised FX and the analogue musicality of the Mastersounds.

Simple and sweet. I had the Mixstream for a short time only, but it’s an incredibly fun device for its size and price! Also, a great backup unit, also cool for travelling.

What I also noticed are your added feet beneath, which is something I recommend to everyone who has his setup placed on a standard table, which usually forces you to arch your back.

I got 4 aluminum feet from Amazon, originally made for furniture, but hey, they work perfectly with the Mixstream, Live and Prime units. You can adjust that center thread, so it sticks out 2-3mm, ideal as ‘guide’ for the holes inside the feet of said units.

Oh nice! I didn’t think anyone made nice feet like that. I 3d printed mine to friction fit over the existing rubber pads.
