PK — I screenshot and posted what I meant. 195 MB is a massive page load by normal web standards.

If it loads instantly for you, that’s likely due to caching and a fast desktop connection. I’m on a 2 Gbps connection, and it still took roughly a minute to fully load on my end.

This isn’t about the content itself — it’s how the images are being delivered (full-resolution originals loading all at once).

A few simple changes could dramatically improve throughput without changing what anyone posts:

  • Serve resized images in the thread (e.g. 1600–2048px max width)

  • Use thumbnails in the feed and load full-size on click

  • Lazy-load images below the fold

  • Strip EXIF data / use modern formats (WebP)

For example, a typical DJ setup photo might be 12–20 MB straight from camera, but that same image resized for web can be 300–800 KB with no visible quality loss in a forum view. Multiply that across dozens of images and the difference is huge.

Discourse should lazy load images in a smaller size and opening full size when clicked on, so weird what’s happening.

Wish Denon had bigger presence in clubs honestly. Having tried other gear in clubs I still believe Denons are superior. A bigger push by the marketing team on socials or new promoters except Tiesto and Heldens who don’t give a crap about this would be a start hehe :grin:

I leave the closet doors open to keep out the humidity; I leave them open for a whole week, and then I leave them closed for a whole month :slight_smile:
