I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this way, but could you please integrate the Serato waveforms on the SC5000/M’s as well please.
I was really excited when this was announced that I actually did all the updates to check if it doesn’t work on the older model as well seeming that the SC5000/SC6000M aren’t that much different.
Actually asked Denon this question & they advised me to drop it on their forum.
I think Denon should have considered the SC5000/M users in the first place seeming there isn’t really much of a difference in hardware, the screens too are big enough to have the green waves replaced with moving ones.
Virtual DJ actually has a nice stealthy look plus onscreen dual layers & waves. Hope this doesn’t forces me to move over to Virtual DJ
Did that also some time ago… I don’t like how vdj algorithm handles audio processing. I hear a giant difference between VDJ and serato or traktor.
I started to think about getting an S11 and 2x 12mk2’s (or 2 RP8000mk2’s) combo also
So true guys… Currently using the SC5000M’S with the S9 & DDJ XP2. Works extremely well as a full on midi setup & not having to use any external usb hubs:raised_hands:t3: I don’t know who came up with the 3 USB ports but give that man a bells:raised_hands:t3:
Might as well move over LOL vdj has always & will always be better than Serato. I left that plain software many years ago vdj has way more features & now that i just bought my set of 5000m’s VDJ is leaps & bounds over Craprato again LOL
Only issue that VDJ still needs to deal with is sound processing quality… That leaves the VDJ still behind other programs like Traktor or Serato and Rekordbox.
You don’t decide which software “has always and will always be better” than another one. LOL
Most people don’t care about sh*tload of features they might never use, but they care about stability, sound quality, reputation or other things. I have worked with VDJ, Traktor and now Serato, and the last thing I need are fanboy ninjas telling everywhere how much awesome and better software XY is. Just let people decide what they prefer to use, thank you.
Back to the topic, I don’t regard animated/full Serato waveforms as crucial for the SC5000, or for any Denon unit at all. You can either import your whole Serato collection into Engine and then have the full waves in standalone, or you plug and play with Serato because you want to use your laptop anyway.
@Venom_MA you start by berating mrtyme209 over his statement, then you go and do exactly what you’re complaining about. LOL
You say what “most people” do or don’t care about, as if you’re the spokesperson for these “most people”. Did you ask everyone? I don’t think so.
Yes VDJ is loaded with features, but that’s not a bad thing. VDJ users don’t need to pay more for addons to get certain functionality - it’s built in. Also VDJ is way more configurable than the competition. The GUI can be customized, the mapping can be customized, VST effects can be used, it can broadcast directly - no need for third party programs. VDJ supports way more hardware than any of the competition.
There’s nothing wrong with VDJ’s stability IME. I’ve used it for decades and it’s rock solid. Ditto for sound quality. No difference to any other software or hardware I’ve used, to my ears and to those of my audiences over all those years. If anything, I tend to receive praise from people over the sound.
As for reputation, well IMO if you let that affect your decision, then that’s a pity. I choose things based on their ability to perform the required task, not because of what someone else thinks.
I have all the competing software on my system too, and have tried them all. Over the years I have used DJ software that doesn’t even exist any more. VDJ is the one I rate above all else - but believe me, if someone brings out a better program, I will not hesitate to move.
I don’t think you or he asked everyone either. Hence you critizise me for something he started with his questionable post which had zero relevance with the actual topic.
The rest of your post sounds pretty much like the typical VDJ advertising I have seen from you elsewhere here in the Denon forums and people had already asked you to back off, so I won’t waste further time.
I’m not making any sweeping statements like you did. In fact if you pay attention, I specifically inserted acronyms such as IME and IMO. If you don’t know what they mean, that’s not my problem.
…and no, I’m not “advertising” - merely stating facts. You don’t seem keen on those who express positive opinions about the software they prefer. Why is that? Would you not do the same if someone was belittling the DJ software you use?
