SC 6000's discontinued?

It’s a waiting game. The younger generation of DJ requires the tech that Denon currently offer and unless pioneer completely change track then they aint going to get it from them. It’s going to take a while but the tide will change or even up eventually. The so called club standard only lives up to it’s name if you set the bar low. Emergency loop comes to mind.

Intense and Tomorrowland rents its gear from DJayGear. A dutch company. They have Denon primegear in plenty configurations.

Thats a whole different class then local events like your local 3000 guest scouts party.

The AV rental companies in that middle segment don’t own Prime gear, and will not bother to drive to the netherlands (from Belgium) to rent Prime gear, just because one local DJ, playing a one hour set on a 1000 guest scouts party, asked for it. They will just provide the Pioneer gear (mostly CDJ2000, not 3000) they have been providing for the last 20 years. If you get those AV companies to buy Prime gear you can turn the tide, if you don’t, local DJs will keep using Rekordbox for convenience reasons. These rental companies don’t care for the DJ gear in their stock. But its also these kind of rental companies that local DJs have their first gigging experience with. So if you ask yourself why local beginning DJs think Pioneer is the best, there is your answer…

Absolutly can´t agree with that! I´m really loving my setup of a Xone96 with 2 SC6000Ms and 2 LC6000s. Best solid gear around with awesome community.

and of course we had newest Pioneer stuff like CDJ3000s to test several times, I had never the feeling I have to switch back to them. I still stay with my Denon gear.

Hi folks,

It has been a long time since anyone posted updates about the SC6000 here. Are there any news? Here in Germany, there are definitely no more S6000M available. They are no longer listed at all. The strange thing is that I contacted In Music to ask whether the production of the players has been discontinued. They confirmed to me that both the SC6000 and the M version have officially not been discontinued. I was advised to contact a nearby dealer if I am looking for a model. From my perspective, that is not a clear commitment. I am planning to purchase 2 players in the coming months and was actually looking to go for the S6000. Now I am unsure whether the model is being phased out and a new version is coming, or if Denon DJ is waving the white flag and leaving the DJ player market entirely to Pioneer – which would surely make Alpha Theta cheer but would be bad for the DJ community in terms of innovations and especially regarding the pricing of future players. The CDJ3000 MK2 or CDJ4000 will likely break the €3000 mark, and yet, that device will be found in every club around the world again. I hope I am wrong! Does anyone have news regarding the S6000?

Even situation in France, the SC6000M are now not found in most of the main resellers. Many indicates that it is no longer available in the catalog.

The classic SC6000 version, however, have just been supplied with the main resellers.

Just received an email by Thomann (big retailer in Germany):

As far as they are informed the SC6000M are “end of life” and are already no more in production. They also have new information that Denon will update the SC6000. But they cannot guarantee it because they don’t know the plans of Denon.

Thomann have been known to say similar “variations of the truth” before , to help them push particular items from rival manufacturers. Thomann did that to a friend of mine who was looking for a particular model of moving head (disco light) - Thomann misinformed him of an apparent discontinuing of the lights he wanted, and tried to push him into purchasing a different brand.

The SC6000/6000M are now over five years old, so it’s only logical that these models are nearing the end of their life cycle.

Even though they are probably still the most advanced models on the market, it would make sense for Denon to consider replacing them to keep up with technological developments and not let the competition catch up.

Denon has always been at the forefront of innovation.

The motorized models are probably less popular than the traditional jogwheel units, and InMusic has probably chosen to discontinue production in order to use the motorized components in devices such as the Rane Performer or the Rane One Mk2.

I believe they are maintaining a limited production of a few SC6000 units to meet demand while waiting for new models to be unveiled, if any.

Jan, while I understand trying to post new info, we already have at least two topics on SC player availability going waaaay back to Mar 2023.

@SlayForMoney You’re right, these are two threads on the same subject. Discussion on the former ended in Aug 2024. This thread is the latter one you listed. It started in Nov 2024. We don’t have AI to recognize threads of the same topic.

Anyway, for this topic, this would be the best thread.

For what it’s worth, there are no new SC6000 or SC66000M showing in Google shopping USA or Amazon USA.

I hope we’re on the verge of some exciting new products.

how many do you want? They have 8 here! And they can be found in Italy. I don’t understand where you get the information! Maybe Alphateta can give it to you?

About a year ago I also looked around for sc600 and also had contact with Thomann. They told me that the LC and SC M had both been announced and were not coming back. While I didn’t see the SC M at Thomann last year, the LC is listed again.

An exchange with a + variant would not be far-fetched for me.

The SC6000s are available at Thomann, but also at Woodbrass and Sonovente here in France for €1,759.

Prices have increased significantly, as they are now higher than the original price of the SC6000M.

SonoLens appears to be selling the SC6000s for €1,649.

This is a far cry from the €1,499 that was the lowest price reached in November 2024.

I wouldn’t put it past them to offer dealers significant incentives to (mid)lead customers away from “discontinued” (cough cough ) products.

AFAIK Thomann do not sell Pioneer CDJs.

They havent done so for close to 10 years now.

Apologies, did not paid attention when c/p links but yeah, there are several of these topics.

OP is not wrong though, it all depends in what part of the world you are. I believe somebody mentioned in one of those threads that inMusic has a habbit of shipping new units from some warehouse or making new stock from time to time and that makes sense to me when observing patterns

Call it copium but I’m not throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Just because there hasn’t been constant news on a new flagship standalone doesn’t mean they aren’t busy.

Like the saying goes, never show your hand

@SlayForMoney No worries, no need to apologize.

You know, it seems a shame that people want to buy Denon DJ equipment that is supposedly available, but they have trouble finding stock.

As an sc6000 user I still believe they are the best media players on the market, not sure if Denon are pursuing another media player model, aside from possibly real time stems (assuming the sc6000s cant have this feature) and being a little bit faster i’m not sure what the justification would be to upgrade
