I think its already there Ben, i remember it being added when the Opus Quad was released.
The stutter/play part?
Iâm mostly curious about setting a hotcue on the fly on an active track. I DJ a lot of weddings and family functions lately and Iâm one of the DJâs who generously plays request. But being able to set (and jump to) a cuepoint in the end would add a gracefull way to exit a song if only aunt Emma seems to enjoy it. ![]()
Im just looking through the feature requests but im 99% certain someone has asked for that ability to pre-listen to a track whilst its playing, im not sure if anything else was added like being able to set markers etc.
Now itâs the perfect moment to announce the following entrance for denon dj ,surprised them ![]()

show them the real dj equipment with feature and power house performance under the hood
Itâs a shame - regarding that âoffline cacheâ demonstrated by Mojaxx, Denon DJ could have been ahead of the game there several years ago, with their announced offline storageâŚ..but then they just dropped it without a word of explanation. Just quietly removed all references to it from their sites.
For a unit thatâs already a bit âthe odd one outâ with horizontal EQ etc, I think a pitch-encoder with a nice click like the loop-encoder would be a fantastic addition, to be able to easily make 0.01% increments.
Thatâs the only think Iâm not quite happy with, with the current Go, so this would a change for me ![]()
LOL @ DJKit saying itâs ânot just an update; it is a complete re-imaginingâ ![]()
âŚ.then going on to describe the things that Prime units have been doing for years.
Marketing wording FTW.
After reading a guy on Reddit asking for advice from the community âif itâs a good idea to replace his 4x CDJ-3000âs in his home studio with CDJ-3000Xâs, while keeping his V10 of courseâ⌠nothing amazes me anymore.
Some NPCâs in this world are straight outta GTA6, I guess.
Nope! A Rockchip RK3588 wonât be enough to perform complex AI computations for real-time stem separation.
I asked ChatGPT, and according to his explanation, an RK3588 has an AI computing power of around 10 TOPS. For high-quality real-time stem separation comparable to Virtual DJ Stems 2.0, youâd need an SoC with a computing capacity of at least 30 TOPS in a streaming pipeline. This means that the separation would be done segment by segment as the track plays. For a complete separation in less than 20 seconds with fast track loading, youâd need an SoC with a computing power of 45/50 TOPS, the equivalent of an M1 or a Snapdragon Elite.
The best and cheapest alternative in terms of production cost at this stage would be a Dimensity 9400+ (around 33 TOPS), which costs around $150 to purchase.
Add to this, you would need a total memory capacity of 12 GB of RAM (including 4 GB for running the operating system + 8 GB dedicated to AI calculations and decompression of stems in memory).
Rockchip currently does not have a sufficiently powerful SoC in its range.
If thats the same one i saw, isnât he pretty much a knwon rage baiter? using that stock photo of the 8 CDJ setup and claiming it as his own?
Im at the point now where i donât believe a single thing anyone says about anything on there, they should just rename the forum âsâtpostitâ
Actually Liquidice uses his own name on there so ill remove him from the above, but everything else to me is just slop.
I wish this info was more readily available, too many people saying things like âOh why cant they just put an Apple M chip insideâ and other such comments.
People donât realize how resource-intensive the algorithms required for high-quality, near-artifact-free separation are in terms of AI computing, especially if you expect this separation to be done in a reasonable time.
I think if we could already have a sufficiently powerful SoC for segment-by-segment pipelined streaming computing where the next 30 seconds after the reading point can be separated, that would already be a significant step forward. And it would be transparent to most users anyway.
I donât know. Could be. I was just looking at leaked specs, before the current released info and saw that post. I was like, really, one would spend $12K for a few extra features? Okay, one would receive good money from the old ones, but still.
SD-Card is still superior to Flashdrives in cost/speed and size. To not include a SD-slot to save $50cent in production cost is just ridiculous. And the fact that the SD-Card gets tucked away in the player will always be favorable. I have a SD to USB adapter for those Ass players that doesnât have a SD-slot.
Love the Smart CUE feature & Touch Preview. Gate CUE (from Serato) and the design cleanup is nice as well. Rest is meh.
Imho, real-time on-device Stems processing is overkill and probably irrelevant for >90% of all users anyway. There is more hype around that than real-world practicality. Most serious DJs do their preparation ahead, so the same laptop where you manage your library, create your playlists, cues, loops, etc. also takes care of good quality Stems batch-processing, which is already the case and working fine (leaving aside that the quality itself is still rather mediocre compared to Serato or DJPro). Simply export everything to your USB or SD (yeah, I love my SD cards) and youâre ready to rock.
I would instead focus on the fundamentals, like boot-up time, track loading, scrolling lags, buffering, faster on-board analysis for streaming services, etc. and keep the rest as overhead for upcoming features in future. As for the hardware next to the SoC, improve the (few) weakpoints like jogs or linefaders, make the buttons more robust, add one USB-C, and weâre good.
Speaking about CPU power, anybody noticed how the track analyis speed on the CDJ-3000X in Mojaxxâs video is still a bit slower than on our devices, based on the 2014-released RK3288? In that regard, their constant adverstising of their âpowerful MPUâ becomes a bit comical. Owners of the OG 3000 and Opus Quad are still waiting for some promised features iirc (day mode?).
Tl,dr - time to take back the initiative while the folks at AlphaTemu keep struggling and their users get increasingly frustrated, especially combined with the massive price hike. Letâs go, team Denon.
Well, if you compare media players to instruments, I tend to think of this:
The SL1200, that was an instrumentâŚ
I love that idea!!
removing markers on the pitch fader is one of the worst design decisions ive seen in years⌠such a core part of mixing and they took it out.
