This is a good summary of the situation.

from comparing the photos it also seems like they’ve shrunk the hot cue buttons! James Hype will be very happy!
JP22 is coming soon.
It’s nice that AT users finally get WiFi ![]()
Off-topic housekeeping.
I’m not sure if they’ve shrunk the buttons or just done the masking exercise which the SC6000 did on its pads, compared to the SC5000 - instead of the who pad lighting up, only a slot / rim of the button lights up.
Who knows what they would have given to be able to fix the screen across the entire width of the device, but Denon anticipated them as in many other things. eheh ![]()
Hey, just so you know, the pitch fader and hot cue buttons on modern DJ equipment are pretty much a thing of the past. People just don’t use them anymore! ![]()
Supposedly it’s going to be $2999 USD
im glad i didn’t buy the 3000s otherwise i would be feeling somewhat annoyed, Denon got the hardware right with the 6000s and provided regular updates for free. I have said previously the battle is about the software not the hardware, Denon understood this Pioneer/AT seem to be working on an outdated business model. Even if Denon dropped a new media player tomorrow i could easily wait another 2 or 3 years because my 6000s will still receive updates the same way sc5000 users didn’t have to buy the 6000s to get the latest updates. I do find using gated cue as a likely selling point in 2025 quite funny
Another angle
It appears that the SD card reader is not on the front panel and has been completely removed.
The front thing appears to be an NFC sensor to facilitate connection to Cloud Direct Play.
Can’t wait to read all the gearhead gymnastics justifying why they need to upgrade their perfectly usable 3000s for this.
And those pitch fader markings being removed
….. another sad little sign of the direction our craft is heading.
The only thing I like about Pioneer is the 3-position trigger for reverse and slip reverse. It’s more convenient to use than our censor button, which requires you to first activate slip and then use censor to perform a slip reverse.
But it’s not enough to make me want to replace my SC6000M, however.
Honestly? I’m cackling with laughter at how pitiful this update is
You’ve probably noticed that the top plate is no longer metal like on the CDJ 3000 OG.
AT is back with its old plastic… There’s no small savings.
Did they upgrade yet? Most are sticking with the 2000’s; forced or by choice.
I think most 3000’s just got delivered after a year of backorder. Those buyers will be really happy…
Wrong. Censor is the slip reverse. You need to press shift + censor for full normal reverse.
indeed you are right, but a trigger still seems to me more practical to use than a button.
