Naming convention wise: this could be my auntās DJ-nickname. ![]()
Donāt they even feel ashamed by now?
Not even the basics they got right. Connections, jogwheels, those small pitch faders, most essential buttons removed for the sake of useless empty space, Mojaxx also highlighted the terrible crossfader. My eyes hurt by just looking at this. But at least the comment sections are pure gold!
Even a Mixstream has more features and some similar limitations, but at half the price. And it comes with speakers, Engine Lighting, touch EFX, Sampler, Roll, and so much more. Ugh.
As the famous French actor Lino Ventura said, āidiots, they dare to do anything, thatās even how we recognize themā
AlphaTemu really takes people for cash cows, they hide behind the concept of āminimalistā aesthetics to legitimize their strategy of removing as many physical things as possible to increase their margins and they think that no one will notice. But the problem is that it stands out like an elephant in a hallway.
Meanwhile you can get a sc live 4 which offers much more functionality and 4 decks for 100⬠less.
Absolutely. The Prime 4 is my primary device, but I canāt stop to emphasize how awesome the price-to-performance ratio of the Live 4 is. I love it for my outdoor sets, even the speakers (loud enough as personal monitors) and 12VDC input (compatible with certain powerbanks) become super convenient there. And Denon understood, that the mixing basics must be done right, i.e. long pitch faders, solid jogs, enough buttons, flexible I/O, SD slot, plug and play with my Control One, for that price - I paid around 1200⬠- it is surprisingly capable.
What annoys me so much about AlphaTheta is their drive to intentionally strip away features that would cost them pennies, for the sake of āaesthetic simplicityā and advertise it as ānew design eraā. They seem to forget that DJ devices are still tools, if you go too far, people will rightfully backlash at you.
I consider to start following AlphaTemu on Social Media now, just because of the memes they recieve currently ![]()
Popcorn-time.
Oh yes it is

āLess is moar!ā
I actually really like AT new direction on their gear.
Itās showing their user base they donāt care about them and profits over innovation, itās setting up Denon for whatever they have in the pipe.
Curious how much longer the customer base stays loyal to a brand/vendor which has absolutely no resemblance to itās former respectable form. I mean, itās reaching the point of getting laughed at if you invest today in the AT system.
