I assumed that price was full bleeding edge as the standard 3000ās are over $1000aud cheaper. Eye watering either way.

Yeah, a few small things like this are indeed less complete, some even less reliable on Denon. Buts its small things, like indeed prepare lists, loops that become deactivated when pressing cue, browsing hiccups. I am still baffled why InMusic doesnāt prioritise fixing small annoyances. If they did, the biggest argument towards Pioneer (they donāt do much, but what they do they do good) disappears as snow before the sunā¦
Oh, and looking a bit closer, I still think the NFC for login into your cloud accounts (especcially in rental situations), and the preview hotcue are nice featuresā¦
Since all the cloud accounts are already in your inMusic profile logging in through a QR code is nearly as simple as through a NFC
Plus, if I understand correctly, you need to pay for the functionality (apart from streaming services). Both the cloud login and the app.
We have the Engine profile, which by itself, is free.
Ok, the paying part is downright theft. But when you play at a gig where SC6000s are provided, you donāt want to fight with logins and passwords. You just want to plugin your USB and play music. That app/nfc combo promises a quick changeoverā¦ next question however is if the rental company arranged an internet connection for you. Maybe you first need to login your players into your phones 4g tethering wifi network 
. But thats a downside of streaming, not specific to any brandā¦
Anyway, just saying not every idea from the competition is bad 
NFC is a gadget, connecting by scanning the QR Code is also simple, fast, and achieves the same result.
Well maybe the NFC is a gadget, the app isnāt: it omits the need for a login prompt on a web page: the app, given it is already logged in (you did this at homeā¦) gives a player you scanned using an NFC or QR code straight access to your cloud settings without asking questions, which must be quicker than that web login prompt. Its a bit like paying with Apple Pay vs your banking app: the former just requires face recognition and it fast, the latter requires internet, a few menus and the extended login of my banking app (like Payconiq for Belgian people), which is 5 times slower. I donāt feel like fighting with a login prompt when under time pressureā¦
OK, I donāt feel like fighting with an internet connection when under said time pressure either. For that reason I think the whole streaming thing is an amateur market, but maybe I am just an old grumpy guy 
. But this old guys sees advantages in that app featureā¦
They could have very easily foregone the NFC and done a QR Code login like TikTok does.

Kinda? Iāve not tried in a long while, but with TikTok, all you need is an authenticated app instance and a QR code is just an easy entry.
Works like this:
- Attempt to log into a web / mobile or desktop app instance, get presented with QR code
- Open existing authenticated instance of mobile app, scan QR code
- Once verified, tap ālog inā and the above attempt is validated. No need to enter credentials.
I donāt remember if the Engine devices work this way.

Yes, the 3000x also offers QR code login, something they could most likely have integrated into the 3000 OG via a simple firmware update even though it doesnāt have NFC.
I understand your point. However, when I need to login, my phone usually is already logged in on this forum, so a simple okay suffices. If not and when I scan the QR, the password manager on my iPhone nearly does all the work.
That authentication file on the drive would be nice to have on our platform.
Thats what I mean. If this is using an NFC or a QR code doesnāt matter.
Thatās an even better idea: plug in your USB drive with the authentication file, and the SC6000 shows your cloud accounts automagically.
You could even go an extra mile and provide the password of your phoneās mobile hotspot in this authentication file, so a rental player without an already valid internet connection tries to automatically connect to your phoneā¦
