Hi, yes I do it on a regular basis.

Works mostly fine. Here and than the x1850 freezes after longer use.

Here is something I wrote:

It’s not 100 percent up to date, but the basics are there. I use right now a stream deck as well to select clips and other parameters of Resolume.

…you dont count as you are the one we already all know! but nice that you are still in it. I wish you a great summer! Seems its stil very rare that people use this combination. Even it adds so much value. Interesting as well that since Inmusic bought Arkaos many years ago they never came up with anything combined with that software.

by the way - where is your homebase city? i just see “Germany” as im from Germany as well just living in Spain now already 20 years.

I really hope ArKaos do something with GrandVJ (or replacement).

It seems forgotten about now. There’s no mention of it on the website front page or under the software dropdown (but it’s still for sale when clicking through to the shop).

It’s a missed opportunity to complete the package. Engine for audio, SoundSwitch for lights, GrandVJ for video.

I use Resolume (Avenue) for my Twitch streams, but would rather use software that’s part of the family and fully Prime integrated without the expense of Arena.

I feel offended that i dont count anymore  but yeah it seems like this combination is not the big focus here.

Never worked with GrandVJ, but something a little bit more like Soundswitch, that can easier be automated would be nice.

Although Resolume software is undoubtedly great, there are certain things that it can’t do…

One thing is being able to point it to a directory full of clips and have it randomly play through them. Seems simple (VDJ does it) and users have requested in on the Resolume forum, but it’s still the case that you have to load every single clip into a slot first.

Another one (that Resolume actually removed from earlier versions) is random transitions.

Yes some function as you mentioned would be nice.

Put all clips into Resolume, BPM synced with players, loop those clips until Song is finished and with the next song started select another clip. Transition via fader. All the inputs from Denon and Pioneer are allready available in Resolume.

But to be honest, not many users that use this combination.

Maybe more a usecase for Soundswitch users. Resolume is probably little bit overkill

More in-house-brand compatibility smoothness would be welcomed. Denon, Akai, Numark & Co. already share certain hardware components (SoCs, displays, encoders, etc.) yet there are certain things still not properly working on a software level. Certain features in SoundSwitch only unlocked when using a laptop rather than standalone, or Ableton Link not being fully linked with SoundSwitch (“empty channel”), etc.

Certain missed opportunities so far, but still fixable. Maybe once the overall Stems hype has settled a bit, priorities may be re-shifted towards QoL and intercompatibility improvements, which would be appreciated. The little details matter, too!
