As all above already stated: sell them what they want or need, not what it isn’t or never will be. At least make them aware and give them something to think about.
This is an EngineDJ user community forum. Sure we will advocate the brand, but if it doesn’t suit someone’s particular needs, the advice is to go out and use/buy stuff that does.
What the problem with Rekordbox users?
They can still use Rekordbox.
Just Export to an USB Stick like with any CDJ and put the Stick in a Denon Prime Unit.
everything works and is fully mapped for Traktor! It has two different operating modes for serato and rekordbox, when you turn it on you can switch to midi or serato mode by pressing a combination of buttons! I don’t remember how to do it! for traktor it works in midi mode with a problem that I noticed! when you open the traktor setup to load the sx2 mapping the mac or pc slows down for a moment they seem to be blocked then they start again but for almost one or two minutes! it does the same when the mapping is already loaded and you are using traktor, the moment you go to open the traktor setup the PC or Mac freezes for a minute or two! It’s probably the mapping that’s heavy!! on page 23 of the instruction manual it explains how to switch from serato mode to midi mode!
Native support is much closer to HID than simple MIDI mapping.
Take the LC6000, for example, which is natively supported by VDJ: everything is extremely fluid and responsive, and scratching in particular is as natural as on an SC6000. On Traktor, there are midi mappings that you can find on the net and modify to suit your tastes.
But even after modification, it’s never as responsive as HID, and the Jogwheels don’t react at all in the same way when scratching in midi on Tractor. Even doing a simple backspin or babyscratch is very complicated.
If you lower the jogwheel’s sensitivity to suit your preferences, this also lowers the sensitivity to displacement when scratching in midi. Where with HID you have two very distinct parameters
ok it’s not native but I was asked if there is a controller that works with any DJ software! and I replied that sx2 works with everyone, and so it is!! then if it works in midi or hid and another thing! but all its functions are active for all software, including displays!!
