No Piooner. It’s new.
These people are so sad, it’s like playground rules - my dad’s bigger than your dad, my uncle will batter your uncle.
I am actually using PioneerDJ DJM 900NXS2 + XDJ1000Mk2.
Will not change the mixer for sure, maybe the players one day, but they still do their job.
I am not yet convinced to get a pair of Denons. It’s a little bit like changing from an old Mercedes Benz to a Tesla You know the Benz is rock solid, has not so many features, but doing a good job, the Tesla has all brand-new technology and fancy features, but sometimes the driving assistent crashes (literally :-).
So I really like the performance pads and their functions on the Denons, this is what I am really missing on the XDJs. Don’t like the Denon phase meter (however, I have to admit this maybe over-rated, as once the tempo is equal, you want to match by ear anyway, because the grid is never 100% accurate aligned).
For quality I am still unsure. I got my XDJs used, but after cleaning they are like new. No issues with jogwheel, no issues with freezes etc., all the issues people are reporting here do not contribute to have a good feeling buying Denons so far.
Maybe I should get a pair of SC6000s and just try them
You should definitely get your hands on one or two and try them for a period of time grater than a day or two (you will love them right away but need to see how your workflow might be changed; that’s why I suggest longer).
As for issues, keep in mind most people who don’t have an issue will go on about their business so coming here and gauging the product is not going to return highly satisfied users but the opposite.
I was a Pioneer user for years and still think their product is as solid as they come but I wanted more to make my sessions fun for me too so I went with the SC5000 and love all that they have to offer.
If you are DJing regularly, I would suggest (after you try them and if you decide you want to buy the SC5/6000) you buy one to start off with. This will get you started with making the transition and getting used to them. As for your mixer, I have said it before and will tell you here too, I really miss my 900 but it’s not the end of the world. the X1800/1850 are good enough and with the added bells and whistles they offer when you have an all Denon setup, I don’t regret my choice.
TL;DR,
You will mainly see user complaints and issues on a forum. The product is good and works as expected. Try it for a week or so and I am sure you will love them also. Your workflow will change and some time for adapting should be considered.
That’s because Jamie Hartley aka crossfader is a completely awkward guy. Having met him a few times over the years here in the U.K. All I can polity say is the guy is 100% more salesman than genuine DJ and whenever you see a video of him with new equipment it’s a sales pitch and not an honest review.
