Maybe tell me why the post got deleted for future reference would help? I do not think I was rude but you can let me know what rule I broke? Thanks
It is worrying, i have made the decision to just use my sc6000s for home use, never had an issue with the players but the mixer had to be sent back twice within 3 years that had knocked my confidence but it has been fine since having it back.
Whilst I am not planning to buy any new gear anytime soon I know from my mixer issues I could not find anywhere to repair it 3rd party I had to send it Denon and if it were to break now, I’m not sure what I would do aside from go through my insurance however they will still need a diagnosis who do i send it to to do this?
Sorry for slow reply Kinsotojin I also had some trouble finding a 3rd party repairer but after asking a few friends I found a repairer in Brighton used by a lot of the local DJ’s and clubs in that area (50 miles from me). Although it has taken me 3 months to get the mixer fixed and returned I do have some good news, the repairer did say how much he prefered working on the mixer compaired to pioneer kit and the repair for my mixer was simply a ribbon between PCB boards was at fault and needed simply re-sitting. The fault was not as first thought, the whole PCB board or relays or capacitors on it. My actual repair was just £40 for diagnostic and service repair. My other repair on my decks (Done by inmusic before they stopped out of warranty repairs) seems good and I have the old motors serviced to replace if issue comes back…Denons repair was overpriced! I do hope that Denon do start out of warranty repairs again as finding a reliable 3rd party repairer is quite stressfull TBH.
The repairer I used is an old boy, retired and useless on phone and modern communication but good at what he does repairing electronics, I think I was lucky as I have friends local to him. I live near Portsmouth and could not find anyone local to me, the nearest I could find was in Winchester but chose the recomendation 50 miles away near Brighton.
I am sure there are other repairers but finding one is not as easy as it should be, the retailers I bought from were no help at all and could not give helpfull advice.
InMusic only told me where to get spares as they don’t hold spares for the x1800 in UK apparently… Personally I just think it is BAD CUSTOMER CARE but I do like mixing on my Denon kit. Maybe when I buy again it will be Alpha Theta.
If anyone has the issue like mine it probrably is worth just trying the ribbons by either just re-sitting them or what the repairer on my mixer did after diagnosing the actual cause for the symptoms was to turn the ribbon completely around and re-sitting in opposite direction. My mixer did not actually need any replacement parts, although the problem may come back he said it is not likely. I am hoping so, and hope Denon do start out of warranty repairs again soon.
just to piggybank on this post… same is happening here in Australia. I had a faulty Prime-Go… spoke to Denon support who verbatim told me it’s out of warranty so they can’t help and when I asked for recommended authorised repairer close by – was told “they do not have one in Australia” (!!!). I’ve just had a SC6000M serve a dreaded update motor 04.04 error aka, turned it into a brick so lets see what they say now. This is 18 months old and hardly used. also for, 2 local repairers who are authorised for Pioneer DJ said inMusic are extremely difficult to deal with for parts etc and they’re rather not have to deal with them at all then take a job.
I don’t think I’d ever buy or recommend another inMusic item again.
As it is probably a simple soldering problem or a few components to be replaced, I think that a competent and qualified electronics engineer could certainly find the origin of the fault and replace the defective components.
But it is true that the components are not always easy to find and can take a long time to obtain.
