NI bought by inMusic

and I still have to correct you!! why do you only open your mouth to criticize! I have been using engine since the first version! and the red file problem happened to me twice! I didn’t move anything at all! once I opened engine and the files were red but I didn’t move or rename anything!! the second time it happened after a genius on the forum recommended lexicon to me! which made an absurd mess for me and I lost my entire library!! and the problem of the sync manager when it stops exporting the playlists doesn’t even allow you to manually drag as you say!! and it’s also absurd that I was chatting with an in-music member for three hours when the sync manager stopped exporting playlists, and guess what it couldn’t solve the problem! and if you noticed in my posts the problem I solved it myself!!! so go ahead and tell me again that the desktop engine is perfect!!

maybe it works for you, it doesn’t work for me because a month ago I had to rebuild all my 26,000 files, I had to redo the entire library, and I assure you that it doesn’t work for me even if I know perfectly where the files are located!!

Ok. In this example in the clip above I renamed the folder and I also moved 10 files to another folder. For me it works now but I had problems in the past.

A couple of months ago I bought a new ssd for the laptop and I migrated the old to the new. Thats when I found out that the auto relocate was working.

I renamed some folders and also removed a lot of music files. Everything was red but turned White when auto relocate.

Sorry that it does not work for you

A mod will close this thread :joy::joy:

I think I’ve already explained that I put the profile photo I want!! If you’re really interested, I have two Prime 4 Pluses, one white and one black, and a Prime Go Plus that I sold two days ago online, and also an XDJ AZ, so if I put a photo you don’t like, I can’t do anything about it!!! If I say the engine doesn’t work, I’m saying it because it is! Maybe you want proof, do you want me to make a video to show you that it doesn’t work like you did?

are the products I purchased enough for you?

Can someone stop this nonsense kindergarten war here, please?

No no. Let him cook.

A mod has culled some off-topic posts. Only, because I’m all out of popcorn…

We’ve moved on from popcorn. I brought Burger King.

Hi, I’ve been using Denon DJ and Engine OS for the past 3 years, and this is the first time in almost 6 months that there hasn’t been an Engine DJ update for Denon devices. When do you think the next update will be released? There’s been a lot of talk about version 5.0, but if it doesn’t come out now in May, I think it would be risky for them to release it during the summer, as this is the busiest season for work and events, and any bug or issue could ruin everything

When they are done cooking :cooking:, assuming they are cooking.

I wonder how this will affect the Traktor integration of OneLibrary.

I think a lot of people are getting way ahead of themselves with the short term roadmap speculation.

According to the press release, this whole process only took around three months from first contact to public announcement. In acquisitions like this, it is pretty standard that the circle of people involved stays extremely small until the deal is finalized. NDAs are usually very strict as well.

That also means most NI employees were probably only informed very shortly before the announcement went live. So realistically, there is a good chance the teams themselves are still processing what this actually means internally.

Because of that, I would not expect there to already be a fully aligned product roadmap, major integration plan, or coordinated release strategy ready to go on day one. These things usually take time after the acquisition becomes public.

Personally, I think it makes more sense to look at this as a long term strategic move rather than expecting immediate software announcements or sudden platform changes in the next few weeks.

Very well said! Someone get this man a drink :tumbler_glass:

@Ben-E I’m happy to see someone who understands corporate business :folded_hands::partying_face:

For that to happen, InMusic would first have to agree to participate at all—and I consider doing so to be a huge mistake!

There is not a single reason to make oneself compatible with a direct competitor.

Engine DJ can read RB XML files, and Lexicon exists. The only one faltering here is RB itself. So, who exactly is supposed to have the problem?

Certainly not InMusic.

The amount of people who buy pioneer strictly to be ready at the gig is way more than you think it is.

This has nothing to do with the data itself. Denon is Denon, and Pioneer is—well—Pioneer. If you want to practice on Pioneer or AT equipment, you simply have to use that specific equipment.

This has nothing to do with your music library. You can import your data into InMusic devices at any time; it is only RB that cannot make use of it! Therefore, I would advise you to ask AT when they plan to establish compatibility with Engine DJ’s SQL database.

Using Lexicon is free of charge, provided you are merely transferring data back and forth. Be careful, however: as soon as you start working with MP3s or similar formats, there is a significant risk that the notorious “cue shifting” will occur.

This does not happen solely on the player itself; the problem actually begins during the compression process—specifically, depending on which codec or version is used. Otherwise, the problem would be easy to solve—but unfortunately, that is not the case.

For this reason, I converted my entire music library into a new format to ensure that everything runs smoothly—since, for instance, I had to work on Pioneer equipment again just last Saturday. For my personal use—as well as at any events where I have a choice of equipment—a P4+ is always at the ready. For me, it is the perfect solution.

We shall see whether InMusic addresses this issue and follows up on NI’s announcement regarding the “One Library.” I believe—and hope—that they will NOT!

OneLibrary solves 3 problems you listed in your response. Cue shift, library compatibility, and not needing to use a third party application are all solved by OneLibrary integration. Being able to one click export to usb to be gig ready is way easier than opening lexicon, import the engine library, export the library to rekordbox 7, then open rekordbox 7, and export to usb. Why would you actively want your fellow DJs workflow to be more complicated?

It makes absolutely no difference what I might wish for or not—it is simply my opinion and my perspective.

There is plenty of that to be found in this and other threads: nice enough to read, but ultimately irrelevant.

Everyone has their own workflow that they swear by. VDJ is my reference system; thanks to its scripting capabilities, it saves me a great deal of work. Unfortunately, even the Smartlists—which run flawlessly in RB—do not always function correctly in EngineOS. Using Lexicon, I transfer all this data to EngineDJ and RB every two to four weeks—and that’s that. That just happens to be my workflow, and everyone has their own.

The concept of a “One Library” system has been discussed frequently, yet it has so far failed to demonstrate any tangible relevance.

I would view things differently if this kind of compatibility with Traktor 4 were already a reality—but as far as I know, that is not the case. To date, Djay Pro is the only platform that has jumped on this bandwagon. While Traktor 4 has been announced, its release currently remains in limbo—it is still unclear whether it will ever actually see the light of day.

Some of us bought a Prime GO so we didn’t have to
