NI bought by inMusic

Ok, no more excuses. Give us full HID support for the SC6000s :joy:

Doubtful, IMHO Traktor will still be it’s own thing. The market and consumer wants to see brand separation (re: Black & Decker/DeWalt. Consumer perception always wins) But having a deeper engineering pool to draw from will certainly push Engine forward and give Traktor access to newer hardware.

Me too, but I never had bad experience. So far all the gear I have from inMusic works as it should. Nothing from Denon or Akai let me down so far. I see this acquisition as a very good step in music industry. Let’s see what it brings, but I am more optimistic due to fact that inMusic has it, not Alpha theta or any asset stripping corporation.

No doubt about it. But less competition is NEVER a good thing.

But trust me, Denon players will not even be added as HID devices to Traktor and it will be hilarious going forward watching inMusic slowly gutting it for parts to add to Engine.

What if the opposite will happen? What if we will get traktor stand alone devices instead?

Then we go feast on those flying pigs outside and do a banging set on our Traktor OS enabled Denon Prime 4 Pro

I love Traktor controllers, the build and sound quality is great. I’m thinking of an S4 styled Traitor AIO running engine. Or imagine making hybrid modulars. Like an X1 with a small 6" screen running Engine. Gives all new meaning to the ā€œGoā€ series.

Traktor System One?

Numark System One?

Might as well keep the non Denon devices on the same naming path.

As everyone said, NI had problems and was already for sale so what competition do you mean xd

If the Engine ecosystem competes with the Traktor ecosystem, then purchasing of NI can be viewed as consolidation. From a business perspective, the consolidation of companies under one corporate umbrella can create an environment for less competition. Not saying that this is probable, but it is possible.

I wonder if my XONE96 which is Traktor certified will work with Engine  /s

True, but neither of these two programs has ever been a top-tier DJ software as widely used as other major DJ programs. I’ve never seen a DJ use either of them live.

There was a time when Traktor was in the same league as Serato, rekordbox, and Virtual DJ. It has a strong reputation in the electro-techno scene.

InMusic has a lot to learn from NI in terms of robustness and build quality, especially regarding the buttons.

I’ve never seen or met anyone complaining about broken cue/play buttons on NI products… and that’s far from the case for many brands within InMusic’s portfolio.

With a bit of luck, thanks to this acquisition, InMusic might finally get their hands on the address of a supplier of durable buttons within NI’s offices.

I’m pretty sure Deckadance is in there too from the Stanton acquisition, but could be wrong.

Deckadance was probably even more niche and obscure than the other two. I even wonder if it wasn’t owned by Image Line at some point (FL Studio).

My brother in Christ, in my neck of the woods you either got Torq if you were a beginner or SSL if you had the money. Traktor barely started to appear with underground crews.

I saved a bit more money and got Traktor Duo licence xD

Damn, I’m so old that I even used that one, 2.0 version but as backup to Traktor.

Was refering more to AT buying Serato old news since the same type of braindead zombies that are now posting on YT/FB how excited they are about having Traktor as standalone on Denon gear where posting how great will be to have Serato on AT gear or whatever delusion they had back then.

Like, for some people you need crayons to draw it: NO company is gonna have for long (or longer than required by the contract with old owner) 2 softwares that are competition to themselves.

Yeah, it was the old Image Line software. there was some great integration with Fruity loops IIRC.

I still have an old Torq Connectiv sound card and Ms Pinky vinyl in its box in storage. I can only guess its worth almost zero now!

I don’t care if Traktor or Engine, or both disappear as long as the merge the best features of both into one or the other or something new. Like someone at the inmusic offices should be setting fire to the Fx algorithms right now and figuring out how to implement the Traktor ones haha

I agree, traktor FX are ones of the best in the market.

correct i agree with u , djay pro fx are impressive to
