New Prime Hardware on the Horizon?

Set it to 4% and is precise more than it ever was on DN-D2000F

That would be equivalent to what you have to do with an 8 bit pitch fader on a small controller to get a natural TT feel and good increments. No thanks. The Versadeck (and about a dozen other branded iterations) are just over 16" wide and have full size 10 bit pitch faders. I don’t get why they felt the need to make a unit much smaller than this and another model only slightly smaller than the Prime 4. The Goldilocks zone is right in the middle of those.

But it worked, and was able to provide enough accuracy to make a clean good transition, or sustain a long blend. Today even that small works way better than this. Also don’t expect entry level or portable devices to have Ultra big jog wheels and faders. Be more realistic.

P.S. I have a Versadeck still today

I am a bit disappointed by the recent releases, to be honest - I understand completely that others are very happy, and thats cool, but we’ve still got the VL12 which is not fit for purpose, plus no sampler or remix station. I don’t understand where the X1850 slots in either.

Not starting an argument, and apologies if it causes offence, but is there really a market for the Prime 2 / Prime GO?

Anyone else feel like this?

I think that PRIME 2 is a direct fire against XDJ-RX2. Prime Go - new thing on the market again. But not new in total - portablism is today a thing.

I don’t think of the GO as being an “entry level” device. I think it’s a niche novelty thing at this point. Sorry, but they dropped the ball on the Prime 2ch all-in-one standalone. One model right between the two sizes and without a battery would have satisfied most of the people who will be targeted by either device now, but many people are going to say the GO is too small & awkward to mix on comfortably and the Prime 2 is too close to the size of the Prime 4 and they’re losing out on 2 decks/upfaders. In my case, it looks like I will alternate between either the Versadeck or one 5000 & the smallest mixer I can find when I have to go portable.

Whats with the rotary knobs on the front of the units too? They’re just asking to be bashed by some clumsy idiot.

I think most people targeted by XDJ-RX2 who are amenable to switching to Prime are going to go with the Prime 4.

No “clumsy idiot” should be in front of the unit, except yourself. Many DJ equipment products have commands on the front panel.

I feel that also subwax. Prime go is a toy for me. Prime 2 maybe if the Price is low it will sell. But i better like rx/rx2. I was waiting for firmware/software related news but quiet for now😑 But i must admit that move with the same firmware on all models is brilliant and is a great move. Let us hope that there wont be the same problems on 9 different subforums😉

I am usually the clumsy idiot - you’re absolutely right.

Good point, it’s still a thousand dollar device. Just size-wise I’m used to losing that booth out. I’m happy to see it. Let’s say happy, rather than impressed. :stuck_out_tongue:

No doubt. I would’ve rather gotten something similar to the DJS-1000 or even the DDJ-XP1/2

But Denon has definitely been overtime on the R&D. They’re growing their line and price-points. I still think they need something under $500.00 if they really want to inch into people’s minds and bedrooms. We sell DDJ-SB3’s like bottled water. Yes I know it’s not a stand-alone but that’s not the point I’m making.

And not to get too deep in the hardware talks either because above and beyond everything they need to fix their software side of things. I’m happy they’re growing their line-up. It’s necessary and important.

I preorder the prime Go, it that’s an amazing standalone device, a backup unit, a training unit… With battery inside ! Less than a thousand euros it is a good price. Denon has just to release battery powered speakers and it will be perfect. (Bose has it I think)

If the little Go had a bluetooth to connect with any bluetooth speaker, it would make a perfect centerpiece for small garden parties.

It is enough to connect an RCA to Bluetooth transmitter on the master output to be able to get the party started.

I agree - I’m just being a bit selfish. I was really hoping for something that I wanted and am a bit gutted that it hasn’t materialised. I would much rather have this though, rather than have nothing updated at all.

DJ Marco is excited about this device I can tell! : )

Not too sure on the training part though. The layout on this thing is kinda bizarre and unlike anything anyone would upgrade to though. Muscle memory is half the battle you know?

Backup for sure. And if you need something for a smaller setup. No Doubt.

My JBL Xtreme (as most other, better BT speakers) has a mini jack input. Paired with the Go it would make for a great party at the lake.

The pb with bluetooth is latency, difficult to mix in bluetooth, or only with headphones mix
