I think I know what the “G” is.
Could it be something to do with karaoke?

I honestly dont think that Denon sees the karaoke-dj as a taget for this Prime-series.
So if you are thinking Graphics or what you have in mind that the G could stand for, I must say that I dont think so…
But I could also be surprised - which I havent been, regarding what we have seen this far.
But I hope that there is something that can surprised me tomorrow
With the small form factor & battery icon on screen I’m sure it’s a Prime2Go.
Maybe loading from internal SSD? Or from a SSD-Based Stick? Loading on my SC5000’s from external SSD with about 1100 wav tracks is almost ‘instant’
Karaoke is a big thing now in the bars. A new unit dedicated to karaoke as an off shoot but still tied to the prime series is not to far fetched.
It could also be some sort of break out box to connect the decks to, to send the “G” out to a monitor.
Come on it’s the best piece of speculation so far. Apparently I read somewhere here that these players can play certain files tied to video and “G” is tied to karaoke.
I also only use the rear USB 3.0 ports - I bought two short 30cm real USB 3.0 extensions routed under the players to the front. Those seems to be faster with real 3.0 sticks/ SSDs
I still hope that the G is for “Groove” or something like that / something like a remix/ sampler deck.
Would make much more sense to create a unit that connects to the mixers send - return. (imo)
Prime Garaoke then lol
Hahaha Reese why didnt I think of that… Surely thats what the G stands for!
G… You have a point
If this is true then pioneer will disappear🤣
AS far as I seen, Pioneer recently released only Vinyl related videos with 4 artists just talking the retro love out of them selfs to vinyl with some PLX 1000 in the background some times flashing thru. So no counter-product from their side till now. But anyway, who even cares? If happens this will be overpriced, underfeatured plastic toy like always…
After 10 years of development vs 3 - good match
The Prime 4 only supports up to 48khz sampling rate files, though, right? Or is that just what the digital mixer section on it is running at? If they’re not resampling everything so much, that’s much less processing overhead. The 5000s are resampling the bejesus out of everything way up in the DSP (and poorly, at that) and then back down to 96khz for the SPDIF rather than just only supporting tracks up to 96khz sampling rate and switching its audio processing and SPDIF to the rate of the track like Pioneer does. That, the limiter, and the lack of -6dB pad for Elastique to have headroom to work are probably a substantial portion of the current sound quality problems on the Prime players. So they could speed up analysis and everything else with most tracks people play just by fixing this, and the audio processing fidelity would improve. It’s not like they’re running a DAW or triggering a dozen samples from various tracks on the same layer.
You mean kinda like this.

I wish denon would stop putting controls along the front edge of things. Difficult to read, see position on, difficult to flightcase, difficult to adjust quickly with plant precision, easy to knock accidentally
That unit it too bulky to be just a 2ch prime2. It must be able to do something else.
Few more hrs to find out😀
I will have to agree with you on that one.
In my mind, a P2 will just be a 2-channel Prime 4…so just slightly shorter…and since they use the 10 inch screen on the SC6000, the P2 might have the same and still same look as the P4.
This is something else… if its what represents the G, then I dont think we will get the remixdeck/ sampler this time either. But to me it looks a bit bigger than I would have thought of if its a more portable device. (Sure, its still kinda small )
But as you say, few more hours to find out.
But: the Prime 4 was build with the old layout, also heavy buttons and full of lights. the new SSC6000 brings a refreshed layout with professional design and finally light buttons, should the PRIME 2 follow the new style? I HOPE.
