What was Bowlers like? did you ever get there?
Yeah, first night I ever went some poor 16 year old kid collapsed on the dance floor in front of me after smashing 2 pills on his first night out
sadly he passed away and they shut the place for 6 months but came back with a bang with a Fantazia night with Carl Cox on!!
Bit cheesier than the “super clubs” of the time, trackies and trainers instead of £100 evisu jeans and a shirt, but a proper “what’s your name, what’ve you had and where do you come from” night, played the tracks everyone wanted to hear and to this date it’s still where I saw the best ever live PA in Dream Frequency. Was massive as well, like an old school warehouse rave (before my time) but all legit.
Sounds awesome, Take me to the top is one of my all time fave tracks too. i just missed the proper rave scene and only caught the back end of the 90s, still pretty special but not as groundbreaking as those earlier days.
Stu Allan live at Bowlers was one of my first Rave tapes as a kid, epic tracklist.
I might have been there, saw him loads of times at Bowlers. Loved him as a DJ, right knob of a person. They always say never meet your heroes…
A few of the Manchester DJs are meant to be a bit like that arent they. Then the ones you expect to be a knob end up being sound.
Steve Parry probably the nicest DJ I’ve met. Stood with him on the Terrace at Space doing a Selador night and he was just sound (as was Dave Seaman tbf).
I’m not his fan at all, but I respect his work. He brings people together.
Me neither, but agree with you. Not a fan of many MainStage TomorrowLand acts, but they are loved by many so who am I to judge?
Burning question, why the hell is someone posting in his comments that he has no talent, people need to get a grip.
We can like or not like his DJing or style of DJing, but saying that is just trolling.
That’s just the internet/social media all over though, isn’t it? It’s what people do.
I’ve just been reading about the actress from Stranger Things (in season 1 she was 12) being “bullied” by journalists now she’s 21, who’ve been criticising her appearance.
I did have to resist leaving a comment under James Hype’s video though, about the mic holding. ![]()
Scary is the confidence in which he believes hes really doing something new….
either he is just the showman and knows its nothing new or he was basically “betrayed” by his team. but well google is free to use even for him….
