The touch screen FX function.
I was saying in one touch pad can apply 4 different efx like on the mpc live 3 pad for more combo efx
Is there 4 different effects on the pad on the MPC? or are they just XY pads that alter the selected function depending on where you move your finger to? the same as the XY pads on the touch FX we currently have.
Right Now u can select only one effect for all the touch pad I was saying instead one efx,it wil better if we can asign 4 different efx on a single touch pad for example ,gate ,echo ,flanger, filter blend it together, and also add more new efx on the touch pad list to
You say that, but there are already combo effects on that touch screen, all but 2 of the current touch FX are a combination of more than one. Have a look at what is there currently.
Why would you want 4 effects on a single pad? at some point you have to just sit back and think, this is going to sound rubbish. A gated, echoed, flanged filter = a complete mess.
I want it cause I know which effect will match with other efx to blend it ,if u are not a traktor pro user u wil never understand, every dj has different unique style, the efx i hav mentioned it jst a example for you to understand what i am trying to tell u
Ok man, whatever you say, im only 26yrs deep in the DJ journey, and over 35yrs listening to DJsâŚ. i have absolutely no idea what im talking about when it comes to what sounds good and what doesnt.
There is an old saying âjust because you can, doesnât mean you shouldâ
FYI other DJ software can also have multiple simultaneous effects on one deck. VirtualDJ, Serato, RekordboxâŚ
Even Denon devices depending on which one you have ![]()
Im not against the idea of having more or custom FX banks on the touch FX, there is certainly more room for expansion @andrew_nicoire ⌠but I think 4 on a single touch is possibly overkill, I can hear producers cringing at the thought.
That said, the pad section of the Live 3 is something that could open up lots of possibilities in DJ world, and I hope its something they bring as a headline feature on new DJ gear, like pitch control or effects added to a sample or hot cue that would allow for some really cool sounds on say a triggered vocal stab etc.
The MPCe pads are great, with drum samples or key groups this is brilliant. I played around with the Live 3 and I like the pads.
But if we are going to map FX to the pads - I have already an ongoing project where my MPC One plus is a FX unit (like send / return) for Djing. Then I map pads and knobs to FX, and I can add midi controllers for certain FX. In Macro performance mode you can assign multiple layers of commands to a single pad - that gives you multi fx macro control. And adding automation on MPC, you can make build-ups and break-downs more complex than on RMX1000.
Just saw that the MPC live 3 lost ethernet connection in favor over wifi. This is not great because Wifi standards change, making it much easier to become obsolete. Ethernet moves way more slowly.
I sure hope that we donât lose ethernet in future SC decks, assuming new ones are being developed.
We still can use a generic USB to LAN dongle - I tested, it works fine.
Also there are dongles that have 2 or 3 extra USB ports and LAN port - also tested - works ![]()
So itâs BYOD- Bring you own Dongle
.
Also, I do hope that inMusic product engineers changed the paint used on the buttons.
I have SC6000s whose paint is rubbing off. Iâve never used anything more than a damp rag to clean my decks.
(Sorry for the potato quality photo. Itâs a screen grab.)
This paint ends up on my finger tips:
Hm⌠that is something I seen already happening on multiple devices from other companies too. This is due to more acidic content of the sweat on the hands. It is very hard to avoid, as this is not super easy to catch in pre-production state.
Yeah thats not great.
Yeah 100% not easy to catch. It took about 3yrs of weekly use for me to see this happening.
I think the first indicator was the trim (+/-) buttons.
The issue is some buttonsâ label are the paint, and eventually the labels will wear off/become illegible.
Time is one factor, and then different biology on every ones hands - you canât predict who has what PH on hands and how it will affect it.
I would suggest to reach out to inMusic for a new set of rubbers for the next 3 years ![]()
ârubbersâ has quite a different meaning in the states
. Also, given how scarce parts are, I highly doubt anyone would service the request.

This is a point where I agree. I wished inMusic was more consistent with their LAN port. The Live 1 hadnât one, the Live 2 got it, just to get removed again on the Live 3. The âbudgetâ MPC One had one but no Wifi/BT, the One+ removed it in favor of Wifi/BT. Same for the Prime Go vs the Go+. The very big studio-centerpiece MPC X never got a LAN port, even though there is enough space. The Prime 4 and 4+ have one.
I donât really see any point in that mess, but whatever comes next for the Prime 4, SC decks and mixer, I really hope this port will stay for the professional devices. Wifi and dongles can cause issues, a direct connection is more reliable and works with any LAN cable. Linking my P4 and Force together via LAN is very convenient to have.
For the more budget or mobile devices Live 2/4, Mixstreams and Go, it is more understandable leaving the LAN port away.
Speaking about the awful rubber coating (which both my Force and SoundSwitch have), I am glad to see the Live 3 has a good-quality hard plastic cover again.
Moin, to whom it may concern:
Prime 4 (four years old):
surface next to the cross fader
Prime 4 PLUS (seven month old):
surface next to the cross fader
and my fingersâ working positions right hand (I am the only user at these gears):
Pls. is here anybody, who can recommend some gloss paint?
After my next gig I will contact the vendor, as the P4+ is under guarantee *ha ha*.
btw.: Following your explanation, it seems that I have acid fingers ![]()
