I'd like to see a VL12 Prime Turntable called the Denon DJ VL1200M

  • Can we get Denon to Make an upgraded VL12 Prime Turntable, based on the best features of the LC6000 and the best features of the Denon VL12Prime Turntable? It could possibly be named the “Denon DJ VL1200M expansion controller,” or name it the “Denon DJ VL1200M controller.”
  • This could compete with the RELOOP RP-8000 MK2 and also compete with the Pioneer DJ PLX-CRSS12.

yeahhhh good luck with that… firmly in the ‘never going to happen’ category.

The VL12 certainly needs a successor, since Denon DJ now doesn’t have a turntable under manufacture, and the VL12 had some poor design choices that could be improved. They could go much further, though.

Very rough rendition. Imagine this is an S-arm… or maybe TTX-style modular one:

The true vinyl turntable just gets more and more dead as an idea, every year.

Also InMusic have the Rane brand “turntable” which they wouldn’t want denon dj brand to muddy the sales waters of.

However , if denon dj even gets to a point where “motor” doesn’t mean “extra problems” (it’s one more component to go wrong) then a motor version of the LC6000 would be interesting

Hmmm? Some combined versions of a fantasy “LC6000(M)” and a fantasy “Denon DJ VL1200M controller.” would be very interesting. Hopefully, Inmusic could be convinced or persuaded that shared technology between Rane and Denon would be good for both of the subsidiaries. And a win-win situation for Inmusic. It’s time we circle the wagons (so to speak) around Pioneer -aka- Alpha Theta.

An update on the Numark X2 and Gemini CDT-05.

Probably the biggest issue would be getting enough mu-metal in there to shield the cartridge from all the EM fields. Without a CD mechanism, though, no vibration to worry about from the unit itself, at least. The hybrid idea was ahead of its time before thumb drives were common place.
