How to load backup prime 4 on new ssd

I tried to install the unique firmware on the denon site, the 1.6.1 and engine Os, but then it made me problems with the library analyzed by ver 2.0 … and then I put everything back to today’s latest … .what should I do to go back without doing damage to the tracks?

Version 1.6 will never touch or see database 2.0.

Version 2.0 will never touch database 1.6. It shall read it and create a new 2.0 database in a separate folder and migrate.

So:

Is not true or not possible.

can you tell me where I can find the firmware 1.6.0 or 1.6.1, of the P4 and the respective desktop engine? on the denon site I only find descktop 2.0 versions but I can’t find the P4 firmware … can you put the respective links here, please? Thanks again

@DJROBYONE You can find older releases at the bottom of Desktop and OS Downloads + Manuals | Engine DJ. 1.6.2 in this case

What Addie ^^ states. They’re near the bottom.

I had to bring back the P4 with the latest firmware 2.0.2 + engine descktop, to return all the library and the songs found without errors … and I don’t understand why if I go back it loses everything instead …! !! the wifi only works with 5ghz band, both going back with the version, and now … and even here I don’t understand why, since 1 year ago it was fine even at 2.4ghz … these are strange mysteries … because if I go to clubs or clubs that have only 2,4ghz I will have problems if they ask for new songs in the parties that I don’t have in the bookstore as already happened !! it seems strange to me that the wifi module could be broken, used very little, in fact in the forums there are no such problems …

I tried to go back behind the 1.6.1 + engine 1.6.0, but it doesn’t find any playlists with the various musical tracks, as I wrote above. external, where it does not find any music … so I have to bring everything back to 2.0.2 to go back to see all the music, songs and libraries on the usb and internal supports

Did you try a factory reset?

Which method did you update the firmware with? USB stick or through Computer or Over The Air (OTA)

If you used one method to do the update, try the alternative method.

That’s only possible if you have never had a database made in 1.6 or if you have deleted the Engine folder before using 2.0.

Furthermore. If you do have a 1.6 database, any changes made in 2.0 are not written to the old database anymore. Both versions will never change each other’s database.

We need to stop the database discussion. You only need to go back to version 1.6 to test the WiFi, as you’ve stated it worked with that version. If it still only works with 5GHz in version 1.6, then it is a hardware failure. If both bands work, it’s a 2.0 problem.

as written above, even in version 1.6.1, the wifi now works only with the 5ghz band, a year ago it was fine even on the 2,4 band … I have no words, why such problems can happen. I also reply that I did also various factory resets performed from the engine os menu … but the problem remains. finally now I am working with the latest version 2.0.2, because I have to play in the club and therefore I can no longer have database problems … I just had to understand if the wifi would work on 2.4 ghz again … .but it doesn’t work, and it only works at 5ghz … it seems strange to me to think about the broken module, which has never happened to anyone, reading the technical forum of the comunity denon.com … I don’t think it is broken, while I think to some sw setting on the router

Okay clear.

Can you perhaps try the WiFi at a friend or family member to rule your router out?

yes in fact … I was thinking about this … when I go to play I will try the local wifi. I hope I am right that the problem will be on the side of my router which somehow blocks the connection with the <p4. . !!:pray::pray::pray::pray:…thank you for all your help and support you have given me

unfortunately … the library in engine loses track of me often. I put everything back in place a few days ago, which I wrote above … I did the sync as you said … on the internal ssd P4, it is everything went fine for a few days. then I told you that I was downgrading to 1.6.1, but unfortunately it could not find the backup library of this version. so I reinstalled 2.0.2 … but this gives problems skip track … so I went back to 2.0 … on my ssd inside the p4, everything is fine, all the tracks are there, but in the library on the desktop engine there are many playlists missing, which instead we I’m in the internal ssd … so now, I’m terrified of redoing the sync manager, for logic then it will transfer everything to the ssd disk, as you told me. and then I will also transfer the problems of the missing tracks in red. …so I don’t know what to do … I don’t trust this sync manager anymore. that you advise me to do to solve and feel comfortable ^ or a great work of rebuilding playlists, so I don’t want to destroy all the songs and tracks from her again. I’m very disappointed

When things get this way…perhaps its better to start afresh.

you may also want to consider using itunes, if you are more comfortable with that.

What dj software were you using before engine?

Engine DJ is really a very simple program to use, once you understand it.

I have always used engine since I bought it as soon as it came out … !!! the only real thing is that I have never used the sync manager … I created the playlists and copied them on the ssd directly … never had problems with red or lost tracks !! since you told me to use this sync, these problems have arisen … but do I have to do these syncs? can’t I use that software of yours to clone the disk when I have to make a backup? , or .what do you mean to start from the beginning? I had already fixed the playlists on the engine, as I wrote you before … then the problem is not to downgrade the firmware anymore … because this is where these problems arise !! I tell you … can I copy the playlists I find on my ssd, and copy them to the engine pc library? since I have all the songs on the ssd working … copy each folder on the engine library pc, can I do it?

You can continue using the method that works for you.

But if you are still having issues, you should contact denon support team. They will be able to assist you.

Grazie x scrivere in italiano… Cosa faccio ora??

my suspicion is that he may have used the p4 ssd files as the source for engine dj desktop
