My Bose sound link revolve has a delay, even when it’s plugged in with a cable
I thought there was a significant schema change btw 4.0.1 → 4.1 ?
I’m still on 4.0.0, so i dunno. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Between 4.0 and 4.1 certainly, but I seem to have read somewhere that the change was already effective in 4.01. I could be wrong though. In the worst case if there is an incompatibility message, a return to 4.1 will put things back in order.
Hi, thank you for the update. Still no tag editing option from the hardware. For me the star rating would the most needed function. Now I have to spend extra time after every gig (or prep/jam session), checking that one file that was the hit (or big miss) to rate it accordingly. Now I take a picture with my phone of the screen to find it later. I want to reduce the use of a laptop to a minimum.
Yeah, star rating / tag editing on the fly is a highly popular (200 votes) request thread. If you haven’t done it already, you can place your vote here: https://community.enginedj.com/t/rating-a-track-on-the-fly-engine-dj-os/36819
Regarding Engine OS alone, this is really the only major feature I miss personally. Otherwise it is really well rounded. RGB waveforms, yeah, maybe, but this is more asthetical than functional. But that’s what makes me so happy about 4.1 - the whole package is so well rounded, that the additional features we got are purely nice-to-have, like small luxury upgrades (smart cue is cool).
Okay, Stems remains the elephant in the room, but that’s a whole different beast…
Number one feature for me now, that star rating on device.
Number 1 for me is flexible anchor points, don’t care about the the crowd but that’s why I don’t call myself a DJ, just a turntablelist (well now a platterlist I’ve gone digital)
color code & color code search best feature i am waiting for
Ive been trying to connect to two JBL eon 10 speakers, but can only get one to connect…im wondering if this bluetooth is one device at a time?
Is that the same as what Djay Pro is doing? flexible grid analysis? cos you can anchor on Engine now but its manual.
I presume flexible grid analysis would solve the need to go through inserting manual anchors, but what I would like I described in the suggestion section, where it would be nice to insert anchor at the start & the end of a track then freely place or delete anchors in between without having to delete an entire section just to replace the 1 you’ve anchored incorrectly.
ah yeah i see what you mean, you cant edit once its locked in.
Yeah the way I do it at the moment is I’ve chosen 1 track, just a normal average track with a basic beat that was analyzed perfectly that required no adjustment then I run alongside the track I’m anchoring, if the track I’m anchoring starts to slip then I’ll place an anchor & test it against my perfect track 1 anchor at a time.
To be fair about 60% of my tracks are perfect out the box 20% only need a little adjustment but the last 20% are a mess that requires an anchor every 4-16 beats.
I’m also adding hot cues to everything while doing this plus having mixes in between & messing around with stuff so it’s taking a little while to do.
The only ones i have that dont grid are the old disco and soul stuff, i normally just make sure the first few beats are lined up so i can loop… but im really lazy when it comes to prep work haha.
I got a bit if OCD when it comes to things like this so I won’t stop till it’s done no matter how long it takes me.
Only one at a time indeed,
The output bluetooth has a limited data rate, managing multiple output devices at the same time is complicated. You also generally cannot connect multiple headsets or BT devices to your phone simultaneously for the same reason.
Safety first, just one device at a time is fine. Even at newer 5.x Bluetooth devices, there can still be issues or limitations, like audio quality degradation or further increased latency. Engine hardware runs on 4.x.
If you want Bluetooth out fed into multiple output devices, I think several JBL boomboxes have a proprietary standard, they can link to each other, while the BT input signal is only processed by one unit. So that could be a workaround. Luckily, my Live 4 has two decent boomboxes already integrated, lol.
As for input devices, well… just don’t tell your pesky guests that they can play their music via Bluetooth from their smartphones, or a small queue might build up quickly…
So my JBL 710 eon speakers have True Wireless Audio and are paired. My phone recognizes my speakers, each one is paired to my phone’s bluetooth independently…and it sounds great. Funny enough, I can actually mix with my phone using algoriddim djay via bluetooth…nice stereo sound. Beatmatching is done visually/and through synchronization. I was just surprised that the bluetooth out feature is limited on the Prime Go in this way.
I figured it out. My TWS speakers both had bluetooth on, preventing the host and remote mode from working. I still wonder about my phone though…
Moin @AndyC,
I do it as well as described from your side.
Its the old never ending story

If not already done and if a token left, pls feel free to vote for it.
Thanks in advance and enjoy the weekend
