Engine OS 4.1.0 available now

For those of us who sometimes play on older, non-updated hardware, are we out of luck playing with our USB sticks once they’ve been stuck into an updated player or we add a few tracks from EngineDJ desktop? Is there a way to generate a backwards-compatible USB to have in case we run into this situation? Not having some backwards compatibility seems like a treacherous oversight.

yea great but now my 2014 Mac book pro is useless ! apple don’t update that age any further than os11 , latest engine software requires os12 !, my prime has automatically updated and now my MacBook won’t update engine, so usb automatically updated when they was inserted in prime 4 , then when I put them in my Mac book not recognised by engine software , had to format usb , re load up playlists , insert in prime 4 , update usb , same again every time I want to change playlist , very angry ha ha

All the previous versions for Desktop and OS are available on the downloads page. Just go back to an OS version on your player that matches the Desktop version. Recreate the USB from your desktop. --Assuming you are managing your collection on the Desktop software. I’m assuming you won’t be able to sync back the prior changes you made on the players. Sadly, you’re out of luck updating until you get a newer MacBook. Just turn off the update on the players.

Ah yes that will work ha ha , I’ll turn the auto update off , and look into how to go back to the previous update :joy: and I was then looking at newer mac books :joy::joy:

Side point the changes to the database have certainly improved the speed on my sc6000s as before there was a delay on the second player reading the sd or ssd more so the ssd however whilst there was a slight delay on the ssd (5-10 seconds) this is miles better than having to wait potentially minutes like before that is a w i will take all day

You can update the MacBook with OpenCore Legacy Patcher. It works very well and brings the older machines right upto date. It’s working well on mine.

Prime go supports bluetooth audio output but Prime 4 not. Ok so Prime go which is an 8 months newer product than Prime 4, has a different chip?

Yes, I believe the Prime 4 doesn’t have a Bluetooth chip.

It’s entirely possible, the size difference of the units alone would point towards a completely different design language, and therefore components being used.

I believe the Bluetooth is there, its just not stable enough to be suitable for public consumption.

Hello to the Denon team, Thank you for this new 4.1.0 update! However, since installing it, I have encountered a problem. When I load a song on deck 1, the tempo displayed constantly fluctuates by a few hundredths without ever remaining stable. The tempo only stabilises at its initial value or at the extremities of the fader. For your information, I’m using an SC Live 4. Do other users have the same problem? Is there a solution to correct it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Give me 1 bilion dollars… stupid request. Denon DJ is not obliged to give you a feature. Denon DJ can give you the feature, but not must. You can only implore for a feature and wait, when is implemented.

THE covers on the jog wheels, they look fantastic

Hey there! It’s really nice to see another update bringing new features and that’s what I love most about EngineDJ. However, I’m facing some issues with the Bluetooth output on my Mixstream Pro Go. I know Bluetooth is no good to live mixing due to it’s obvious latency, but i’ve been looking for using it on some casual situations. I’ve tested the BT out with two JBL Speakers (BassPro Go and Partybox Encore) and also a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver and on every device the audio quality is terrible, like if it was mistakenly using an old bluetooth version. Using the same speakers with another device, like my phone or my computer would result in crystal clear quality, but my Mixstream have some strong distortion, even at low gain levels. It sounds like some deep compression issue, the high frequencies are heavily crushed. This is particularly weird since both my Speaker and Mixstream have Bluetooth 5.0 support. Is there any possible bugfix for this behavior? I’d be happy to contribute with any additional information if needed.

Unable to detect JBL GO 2 (BT 4.1) with Mixstream Pro+, it is not listed at all even it is in pairing mode. What is the minimal BT version required for this to work/connect?

Confirm. The same on my SC Live 4

it wont detect on ur controller maybe the chip inside the jbl go 2 they use it to old ,cuz i have 1 to i got the same issue ,but when i try with other wireless modern bluetooth wireless ,it work well

The RK3288 chipsets in our Denon/Numark units have at least Bluetooth 4.0 (highly possibly 4.1-4.2 in the revisions with Amazon Unlimited and Bluetooth I/O, since you can find those chips variants on other marketplaces too). The first consumer devices with 4.0 were released around 2011/2012, but it might have taken longer for speakers. The JBL Go 2 is from 2018, I doubt it has an older Bluetooth variant.

@tAz-07 @Charvel @Matteo

This seems to be something specific to SC live 4. Maybe one of you should open a bug report so the dev team can investigate.

I want to confirm the BPM fluctuations on the SC Live 4, which have been noticed by @tAz-07, @Charvel and @Matteo. These show up on the platter display for the channels 1 and 3, I have not seen them on channels 2 and 4. The second digit after the period dot is fluctuating, like between 155.15 and 155.18. Setting the BPM to something like 159.99 makes these jumps easier to spot as more digits change.
