I would like to clarify from an inMusic perspective.

  • Rosetta is NOT required to run Engine DJ, the application has a universal binary, so it should work on Intel or M series processors
  • We did testing of OS Monterey for the 4.1.0 release and no testers saw these issues. It may be a hardware limitation of your 2012 Mac. Even though we use the same operating system, we have more modern Macbooks running this OS.
  • Mac OS usually has 3-4 supported OS’s at a time for Engine. As Mac releases a new one, we support that, then eventually drop support for the oldest OS in the list. This doesn’t mean that it won’t work on the OS. just that we don’t test all old OS’s.
  • I have just checked on my personal 2015 Mac running 12.7.1 and had no issues running Engine desktop. I’m updating to 12.7.6 now to see if there’s any difference.
