The Stems track will be roughly double the size of your normal track, so your library will triple in size if you did all of them… as per Youtube videos just posted. Good job SSD drives are cheap.
Ahhh yeah, well hope my SC6K’s are compatible as well then
Well done Team, very fair upgrade price too.
How special is someone who buys a 4+ prime and differentiates themselves from someone who bought a pair of Sc6000? 6000M!? It seems that high-end autonomousness has not been the priority for a long time! “Pay 50 cents”
The speed of the analysis is pretty good. And I’m on a fairly modest M1 Macbook Air.
Mind you, I’ve been playing around with Traktor’s stem analysis, which is painfully slow!
Obviously, until I can hear them on Engine hardware, the jury’s still out.
I’ll pay you $9.99 to stop complaining, you can then use that to buy the stems
Tried prepping some tracks for stems on my i9 RTX4080 laptop. Does Engine DJ use the CPU or GPU to do the calculation on Windows?
STU-C…
Too funny as usual!
It’s going to a very merry STEMS Christmas in deed for all!
A big Thank you to the Denon DJ team!
On YouTube i heard someone saying it’s been optimised for M chip macs, so not sure on the Windows front, I can only assume people testing were a mix of both so it should work.
You have to double tap hot cues to enable stems, & stems only uses the top 4 pads (currently). So you lose access to hot cues while using stems.
How about assigning the bottom 4 pads to the first 4 hot cues while in stems mode. …or are there plans to add stem fx to those bottom pads?
Sorry for the constant YouTube references but again it’s been said on there that there are plans to utilise the bottom pads on future updates.
4 cues and stems would be a good mix definitely.
Wow tried some tracks- vocals sound great
Stems calculating at M1 Pro is very fast
Great Job, thanks to Denon Team
In most software, in stems mode the 4 lower pads are used for specific effects on each stem (Vocal echo out, instru echo out… etc…)
Virtual DJ however lets you choose to split the upper and lower pads in a hybrid mode, for example stems for the upper pads and the first 4 hot cues for the lower pads.
This is going to cause me a headache, I’ve only got a crap laptop, if I try to analyse more than 50 tracks in a row it crashes
you need to get the m4 Macs…even a Mac mini.
sorcery what the silicon chips can do
@djliquidice will tell you about Final Cut Pro X I bet, the M chip MacBooks tear through heavy duty video editing tasks with relative ease. I’ve got an M1 MBP 13”, with the extra core in the chip, it’s bonkers how powerful it is.
I’ve got an M4 chip in my iPad, fantastic for watching YouTube and talking nonsense on here ( I do want to give it some proper work to do though)
Never, hate Apple, Windows & Android all the way
All I’ll say, as someone who uses Windows 10 on a surface laptop all day, I’m glad to see the back of it when I finish work. Same with the Android devices I have to configure
Funny how I felt the same way using iPhones, iPads & macs at my old job.
Will this also be applicable to SC6000?
