Not only am I disappointed that none of the top feature requests have been implemented, but I also really don’t like the way you have to select your beat jump size. I mostly beat jump by 64 and keep it on 32 so it was easy to just quickly dial it over by one, now I have to hold shift and press beat jump each time.
Nah. I’ll be going back the the last update and staying there for good, I think.
Thanks for all the updates until this one, though, Denon.
Sorry to hear that. We understand that not every release will please everyone, but we try to balance new features with quality of life improvements that strengthen the ecosystem for all users. We are working on a number of features from the request area now, so you may be more interested in one of our future releases.
Regarding beat jump size, the user profile now offers a setting to reset this value upon track load. For your workflow, you may want to set this to 32 beats.
I do set it to 32, but it was much easier to use the dial and scroll it over one when I needed to. Now I need to either use two hands or thumb and finger to change it. It’s just a pain that way and not as streamlined as before.
Apologies if my last post came off a little salty. That wasn’t my intention. I just don’t think this update works for me, although I do understand lots of people will be happy with it. That’s why I thank you for all the updates until this point, because as long as the beat jump operates this way (it’s a feature that I use a lot) I don’t see me updating again.
Not a huge fan of this at all - speaking specifically on the beat jump change. Please give us the option to use it the previous way. This is now muscle memory and that isn’t so nice to change on us.
Am very thankful for the fixes though but the Beat Jump change seems like an odd one.
It does feel a little unfair. I didn’t see anybody on here asking for the beat jump and auto loop size to be independently controlled. If there was demand for it, then fair enough, I can accept that, but it just feels like they’ve tried to fix something that wasn’t broken.
Might have been requested (certainly not a highly requested item that’s for sure) but just please let us set it to work the previous way, so it works the way we’re all used to.
Normally if you have a system that’s been in place for years, make the updated way to affect it an option.
Like I said above, I’m sure there will be many who like this and find it useful, but it would’ve been good if we had the option to keep it like it was before via the settings.
I guess this leads me to the question. @JWiLL Do I have to update my Engine OS to the same version as the Desktop version? Because at the moment I would love the updates for the Desktop version at least. Gonna have to hold off on the OS at the moment and cross my fingers there’s a Beat Jump option in the future. : /
Please, please - please add searching within a folder and allow us to at least choose and view one specific metadata column. The star section could be the field that we can chose to customize with one other type of metadata. These two features keep me from using Denon in a professional environment.
