Engine 4.3.2🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

4.3.2?? What was this ridiculous update?! We waited 3 months, we thought there would be either a quality update now in the summer flow, some version 4.4 with new features or a major transition to 5.0, and now it’s just a 4.3.2 that many are reporting problems with.

It’s an incremental bug fix update, the clue is in the name, 4.3.2, with the .2 denoting as such.

I’m also trying to find where InMusic signed a law abiding contract that they had to provide the user with updates, features etc, at zero cost… perhaps you can point me to it?

Unless of course, this is just a troll post and should be treat as one.

Engine OS is a software that is growing every day and their philosophy is to always have improvements and new features in every aspect and I was expecting a bigger improvement in 4.4 or 5.0.

Perhaps you shouldn’t expect anything, they aren’t obliged to provide anything and incremental updates are par for the course with this software. You can see this using the link below, with a complete set of release notes for all prior versions of Engine OS.

There’s absolutely nothing unusual about how this has been rolled out.

My controller stopped seeing a working flash drive!?I have already rebooted it, thank God a regular computer sees all the files, after the update the controller does not see my flash drive

For comparison, the last major update (version 3.0) for the CDJ3000 is from June 2023.

Hmm last major update was 3.16 according to the update file. And that was October 10, 2024.

The “major” part of this update is compatibility with the AZ. 3.11 has added track rating (the one we want over here in our ecosystem). But essentially it has been very quiet on the comparable front. So some might say “only 3 months” is a tiny bit impatient.

We know that “they” are not obligated to do anything! We know that, but I believe that one of the main goals of any company is to please its consumers. Making the engine better than any other software is not just a request, but can be the difference when deciding between Pioneer and Denon, for example. What surprises me is that you guys defend the fact that “they are not obligated, everything is beautiful”, we know that it is not, the desktop engine is crap, the OS engine is terrible, slow, full of stutters and does not inspire absolutely any confidence, so much so that many users are stuck on version 4.0. Now, if the company does not listen to us, it is up to us to decide to migrate to other brands and software.

It would be different if we were given a software full of features and everything was working perfectly, then I would say that complaining would not be fair.

lets not make things up Frederico, nobody has said that.

You can easily check the timelines of releases on the link above, nothing that is currently happening is abnormal or alarming in any way.

  • Version 2.3.0 28th of August 2022
  • Version 2.3.1 2nd September 2022
  • Version 2.3.2 22nd September 2022
  • Version 2.3.3 4th November 2022
  • Version 2.4.0 13th December 2022
  • Version 3.0.0 3rd of March 2023
  • Version 3.0.1 5th April 2023
  • Version 3.1.0 15th June 2023
  • Version 3.1.1 5th July 2023
  • Version 3.2.0 23rd August 2023

Thats 4 major releases in the space of 12 months (one could argue even less than 4 looking at the release notes themselves), one every 3 months. I think its time for some people to stop wetting the bed over a non-issue, especially those who should know better.

I know that STU, but when you answer that “they are not obliged to do anything” I understand that you are satisfied with this crap we have today, with every stutter in the middle of my events, my heart almost stops, every time I need to use the desktop engine, I regret having chosen the brand, and honestly, I am holding on tight and hoping that something really different will happen, because it is not possible for you to think this is normal, if you are satisfied, let those who are not exercise their right to demand changes.

No im literally stating a fact from the terms and conditions of owning the device, they are not obliged to do anything, they have no contract/obligation or anything else to provide anything further for the devices than what was sold on the day of purchase.

This has absolutely nothing to do with satisfaction or lack thereof, its simply a fact, nobody gets to expect anything from them, because nobody signed up to a right to have anything other than what their device offered when they bought it.

We’re talking legally here, as per the consumer agreement. You literally buy what is offered on the date you purchased the device and trying to argue otherwise would be laughed out of any court in the civilised world.

Yes, but we are not in a court my brother, we are in a community with “satisfied” people and “dissatisfied” people, but you literally “ALWAYS” come to the defense of something that needs to change, we, consumers, are asking the “developers” for useful and urgent changes, but every time you play the role of the defense attorney, I respect your position of satisfaction, but we have ours of dissatisfaction, notice your first response, you respond to the user with irony, “I’m also trying to find out where InMusic signed a legal contract that obliged the user to provide updates, features, etc., at no cost… maybe you can point me to one?”, I repeat, we are not in a court, this is one of the channels where we can give our opinion on InMusic products, I believe that is exactly what they want, so I ask you to respect that.

What are you getting stutters on? I use my prime 4+ daily for hours and I have for the last year and my Denon prime go before that and I never get stutters, and I don’t use mine just to DJ. I use it for music production so if there was a stutter, I’m gonna hear it in my final product.

If you mean a visual stutter on the waveform, you already know that’s nothing and if you’re getting an audio stutter I would look at upgrading your cables, checking your externals, etc. or even power grounding issues.

Your P4+ is updated to the latest version and you say you don’t suffer from stuttering? You tell me you don’t suffer from slowness on the search screen? In my case, I have to type letter by letter slowly due to the gigantic delay, not to mention the relocation tool that never manages to relocate anything. Anyway, if you’re not having any of these problems, raise your hands to the sky.

You’re either extremely naive or you’re being purposefully obtuse if you believe that you think rules, regulations and laws only apply inside a court.

When you buy a device or enter into a purchase with a vendor/retailer you are literally signing up to a set of regulations that govern both the purchase and subsequent ownership of a product, and your rights as a consumer, and their rights as a vendor.

Much the same way that you are also signing up to various disclaimers, regulations and risk agreements when you choose to upgrade your device with Firmware, surely you dont think these companies do this stuff blindly with no way of protecting themselves from litigation?

There’s even a handy link to it at the bottom of your user manual, plenty of pages and pages of legal stuff to pore through, all related to you and the company you purchased the product from.

Finally can you be 100% certain that everything you have stated in your original comment from 2hrs ago has been written from an honest position? … you dont need to answer this as the question is rhetorical.

Ignoring the war going on here, this is an observation I have to confirm, the input lag is not satisfactory, and for mobile gigs, having a snappy working search is fundamental. 4.2 is a tiny bit better than 4.3.1 but I can’t talk about 4.3.2.

I have no other major issues otherwise, micro-stutters now and then, but purely GUI-related, zero sound output issues (which is correctly getting prioritized by the system). If I think back, Serato DJ, considered being rock-solid, also had GUI-related hiccups now and then, but I could always be 100% assured, that sound-output would never be compromised, and so far, this applies to my EngineDJ experience as well.

But yeah, performance during search or opening certain playlists, especially the prepare crate, is not good and needs improvements.

not to mention the relocation tool that never manages to relocate anything

This is also correct and an long-overdue issue. I keep my library tidy, but Serato was miles better in that regard. Also, still no bulk-relocate, or sort by corrupt/missing files.

Dude, just laughing, seriously you went looking for the legal terms and posted them here? Ahhhhh STU, have you thought about filling out a form to work at the company? At the same time, I keep asking myself: what’s the point of a community, BETA tests, etc., if we can’t give our opinion? You’re really right to applaud good things and bad things too, I’m sure it’s of great value to the company. Congratulations Dr. Defense Attorney STU.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Without mentioning any names, I am sure that no serious company needs a team of sycophants, quite the opposite, listening to suggestions and criticisms contributes to the success of any product or service.
